After some thought I'm going to approach this a little differently. Below you will find a list of former Eagles players that in my opinion stood out at there positions. waht I am now asking is if there is anyone you wish to add to the list before voting begins feel free to respond. Guest you can email me at routlaw@crossetteagles.com with any additions. Everyone else can reply to this post or send a private messege. Voting will begin next Sunday, so I am giving everyone ample time to add players.
If anyones name is mispelled or out of position please help. Also I want to limit this to former players. If a player still has eligibility he is not eligible. This years Sr. are eligible.
I do not have players prior to 1975 on the list because other than Barry Switzer or Karl Salb I don't know any. They are not on the list because I don't know what postions they played. Can anyone help there?
Thanks

Now you're on to something. This will work a lot better. I'm mulling over any nominations I may have.

Johnny Babb was a fullback and a Defensive end and Mark Lockling played defense also along side of Jammie Martin.

In talking to Coach John Pierce...this conversation would have to have been in the mid-70's, I asked him who the best football player was that he ever coached. His reply was Wayne Dodson. I was only in elementary school when Wayne played, but I am almost sure he was on the 1966 Team when Crossett went undefeated. If I remember right, Wayne played linebacker and according to the conversation with Coach Pierce....he played harder and enjoyed the game more than anyone he ever coached. " Everything left on the field". I don't know Wayne personally but it did stick in my mind that of all the football players Coach Pierce had the opportunity to mentor....that Wayne Dodson was his choice of the best. With that being said, I nominate Wayne Dodson as one of the linebackers.

He played center in college at least part of the time. For some reason in high school, though, I was thinking that he was known more for defense, maybe d-end.

Kebo Stewart has got to be nominated. He really was the RCT of his day by kicking FG's, playing FB, and I think LB on defense.

Best manager: Emily Ramthun. Thanks Heath, and you actually spelled my last name right! I am so impressed....half the coaches got it wrong 99% of the time.

You know I know how to spell it. That's from all of those cutlines I had to write for all of those photos of you that we ran.
