Didn'twant to name this school spirit but I guess it has to do with that in a way. Why doesn't Crossett allow the students to line up on the field when the team runs out of the tunnel? That used to be a big thing in my day. We would have a line of students of all ages that sometimes would be 3,4,5 people deep and reach to the 50. why was this stopped? and when?

Stopped before I got here because that was one of the several things that surprised me about CHS football when I first arrived. Even we at Junction City did that, and there was NO support for football in those days (believe it or not).

Why don't you guys see if you can get that tradition going again? That's one thing Crossett sports need to restore spirit, tradition and prestige. I guess that's two things, oh well.

With the new track and fence around the field, it will NOT happen now.
They won't even allow people to go onto the field AFTER games. Even junior-high games.

They still allowed us to make a spirit line. You had 2 ways to cross the track ,each was covered with carpet.

You'd be fighting an uphill battle on this one. During games they've even begun locking the one usable gate down there at the end of the straightaway. The sort of track surface that they have now has to be treated very gingerly and is highly susceptible to soft-drink spills. I guarantee that this will be the argument against it. That and safety. They don't want anybody out there.

So they won't let people go down there and line up before the game, or after a win...but they will let people walk on it any other time? Or will it stay locked up all the time now?

It's supposed to be open to the public eventually as far as I know, but it will have tighter restrictions than before and presumably, more supervision.

I saw two people walking on the track earlier today, so maybe it's open already..? I didn't figure it would be, I dunno..
Anyway, what's the addition to the field house gonna be? It's starting to really look sharp down there.

So do new weight benches go along with the bigger facility, or are they just using the ones they already have?

Not sure about that. I didn't think that there were any immediate plans to buy new equipment. There are a lot of other things in the athletic department that are needed worse than new weights so I would hope that those other things take precedence.

Some moron on there didnt' read the whole thread about "favorite uniforms" and leaped to the conclusion that that meant that uniforms would have to change next year. I swear the common FF just amazes me. If he'd have just read the whole thread he would have figured it out.
I'm catching 10 kinds of heck on the "mascots" thread because people read just part of the thread and-or can't comprehend what they read.

The AAA is cracking down on schools that don't have white road jerseys. Grey isn't going to cut it anymore. That's the issue he was addressing. It won't affect any team I know of right off hand. There are some teams though that will have to buy new road jerseys.

Seems though Morrilton wore silver jerseys the year that it came here for the playoffs. I didn't realize that it would have been an issue.
Covered a Fountain Hill basketball game one time when both teams wore home uniforms. Both teams also happened to be gold. That was a little weird.
