Crossett will be joining Hamburg, McGehee & Monticello for a little practice and scrimmage in shoulder pads and helmets on July 12-13 from 4-8 both evenings in Hamburg. It should be fun to watch to be able to kinda see what to look for this fall.

Do you have any idea of how the game will be set up? Is it going to be something like CHS offense vs. HHS defense, then MHS defense; HHS offense vs. CHS and MHS defense, etc.?

Different controlled situations....not really a game....using 1/2 lines at times and different formations at others.....

Could the scrimmage be postponed, or will they play in the rain?

What are some thoughts on how things looked at the camp meeting? Looks like they may be ready to scrap a little. Makes me ready for some Friday football.

If by scrap, you mean in the bad way, I'll say this- from what I saw, most of that came from McGehee (keep in mind I missed the first 30 minutes, though). I didn't see any scuffles on the field that didn't involve an Owl, as a matter of fact, though I could have missed something. I thought Crossett's running game looked very good, and our QB #11 surprised me when he pulled the ball down and sprinted for a nice gain. His speed surprised me, anyone know who it was? Hamburg had the better passing game IMO, though there were a few not-so-good passes and that play where the Lions QB tripped or something just as the play started. I'll be honest, I didn't really watch the Owls all that closely, I was mostly watching Hamburg or Crossett when McGehee was playing. I think both teams need defensive work, because every other play (at least) seemed to be a pretty big play. Other thoughts?

I saw a little scrapping from all teams which makes me believe that they are getting the football fever as well. Looks like some players are going to be focused on one or two players in particular. That is part of what I was referring to as scrapping. I will be there again this evening to watch again, I am getting the fever myself.

I was not able to be there yesterday...but if #11 was around 6'1 or 6'2 it was Dominic Lincoln...I saw him at R. Brown working out one afternoon in the Field House...he really impressed me.....

Sounds about right, I bet that's who it was bbolin. Athletic ability looked good, but I did see a couple wobbly passes lol.

It was Lincoln. He's definitely no passer, but if they stick in the Wing T as it appears, he probably won't pass more than twice a game all season anyway.

Would you expect to see some sort of option run attack very often? With an athletic QB and good RB's, it would at least keep the D that much more off balance by giving them one more person to watch.

By nature of the blocking schemes it's hard to run any option out of the Wing T, and I've never known Ingram to use it, so I'd guess no. Designed quarterback runs, yes. Option pitches, no. Ingram doesn't like to leave any decisionmaking to the players and option forces the quarterback to make his own reads.

Oh okay, I see. So did they do the same thing today as they did yesterday basically? If not, what did they do different?

I didn't go on Friday but the schedule was the same for both days. They ended up rushing through some things on Thursday because of the weather.

I missed it on Friday. When I went down there about 6:30ish, it was apparently over or hadn't started. When did they have it?
