Now that we've seen Houston Dale's finale, it's time to watch some Hog basketball, and get ready for some Crossett Eagle Baseball. First game is in 6 weeks, and I think we're gonna have a fine team. Bobby Ross Bryan is coming into his 3rd year as a pitcher, having pitched in the state championship game as a freshman! A strong group of seniors, and juniors are returning as starters with alot of experience. I'm ready to just start watching practice. Anybody need some used crutches? I got 2 pair.

The boys look good from the little bit I've seen. I really appreciate Christian Kidd helping out with the team. I don't know if he is a paid, or unpaid, staff, or volunteer, but it's nice to get all the additional help out there. I've only seen one practice, but this is a pretty good group of kids. Alot of game time experiance coming back. Good pitching.

If we are playing El Dorado, I bet we start the season facing Paul Anzalone on the mound. That will be a good test to see if we have the bats ready.

Any results from the first game?
I heard from a players dad that he thinks this team may be better than the team that went to state my senior year ('06)...any thoughts on that?

Eagles lost the first game 3-0. They defeated Norphlet last night but I do not know the score. They play today at 12:30 against Arkadelphia, I think.

Eagles beat Norphlet 10-0 Friday night. Saturday they beat Arkadelphia 12-7, and won 9-0 against Prescott who beat them in the first game 0-3. Great pitching from Bobby Bryan, Vincent Newton, Josh Chambliss, Terrell Bryant, and Chase Meeks! This will be a nice team in mid March. State Contenders?

Sounds like our bats sprung to life after that first game too...I can't wait for the state tournament to roll around

The Eagles finish the OCS tournament beating Monticello 10-7, Van Alstyne (TX) 3-2, and losing to St. Charles (LA) 11-4. I believe they are 5-2 heading into the regular season. Nice record. Defense needs some work but they can hit the ball pretty good.
