I have never heard of this guy. I sure thought Hatfield had the job. I heard today that Nutt may be the next LSU coach as soon as Miles takes the Michigan job.

Saban recommended Nutt on his way out.
Hatfield is too connected with the program to have gotten the job. He never even was considered. White and the board wanted somebody who had no strings. Good move, in my opinion.

He must be pretty impressive (and expensive), because I believe OU offered him and he turned them down a few years ago...correct?

I also read somewhere that he would be one of the highest paid AD's in America- he better do some impressive stuff.

I also read somewhere that he would be one of the highest paid AD's in America- he better do some impressive stuff. Long will be earning $450,000 a year making him the 2nd highest pais AD in the SEC. Only Florida's will be making more. He also has incentive clause that could increase his package well over $500,000. By the way Frank Broyles was thel owest paid AD at $285,000. Long came highly recomended by the Florida AD as well as the SEC commissioner.
