I don't like all of the blind guessing that we have to do with 20 games and all of these obscure teams.

agreed...it turns into who's the best guesser instead of who knows the most about high school football in arkansas. but it's not my competition, and it's all in fun anyway

I have problems with some of the selections in the News Observer contest for the same reason. if you've got to go to other publications just to figure out what area of the country a team comes from (forget actually knowing anything about either team's strengths or weaknesses), what's the point?

By the way we are in this for fun and I think Outlaw does a great job on picking the games after he works a 12 hr shift at the mill

Crap Heath............You did good. What's up with all the crying?? Well, first of all I don't like the idea of completely changing the entire contest structure five weeks into the game. Secondly I think that 20 games is too many games. Thirdly I think that because we have 20 games, and there are X from this classification and X from that classification, everybody is going to have to resort to guessing or simply pulling out HAFR to see who was picked. It's not like any of us ever is going to get see Hoxie or McCrory or Waldron play to be able to formulate an educated opinion. It's not necessarily about who is winning or losing (although notably I lost the top spot this week), it's about trying to make the game as fair and as "true" as possible. My feeling...10 games, certainly no more than 12, made up of teams that Crossett and Hamburg play as well as those of the surrounding area (i.e. Lakeside, El Dorado, Strong, etc.). Again, that's just my opinion on it, nobody even has to pay attention to it because it isn't my contest, but that's what I feel would be the best way to make it a true picks contest instead of a "close-your-eyes-and-point" contest which is what it's going to have to be now.
