The boys went to Hamburg tuesday and put on a slugfest!! It was like a softball tournament. Admitedly, Hamburg pitched 2 freshman, but that's their fault. I was also told that the freshmen weren't allowed to throw curve balls.(That'll do it!). Anyway, the Eagles hit 7 homeruns in the first game, and one more in the short game. I don't know if they just don't have any upperclassmen who are pitchers or just what the deal is but it was fun for the Crossett fans. Now, in a few years, they may come back and thump us when those freshmen are juniors, and seniors, but it aint happening right now. A fun team to watch. I guess we play Woodlawn, here, on the 14th, so come on out to E.C., and watch 'em, or listen to me and Rick on Q-Lite, 99.5,,,,SPORTS RADIO!!!

Good to know that you guys are now carrying baseball on the radio, I'll be listening. Why would they not be allowed to throw curve balls?

They were afraid we would hit the curve balls too far, and wouldn't be able to find them. Cost too much.

I've never heard of such. Mr. C don't believe what eaglesvoice is saying....it is not the balls that cost too much...it is the gas prices that cost so much for them to have to drive to the store to get new baseballs...

Just to rescue Mr C from his situtation, what is the age when kids are allowed to start throwing curveballs? I seem to remember watching one of the national tournaments and remember them talking about it but don't eremeber what age group it was. Seems like it was 12 year olds.

hamburgs coach wouldn't let his freshmen throw curveballs because of their age.
