I guess this is the correct place to post this. The dates for signups and tryouts should set in the next few days.
Folks the age change has finally happened after 4 years of speculation. The age group in which your child will play will be determined by how old he/she is April 30th. In the past the date was July 31. This will cause somewhat of a shakeup locally. I'll keep everyone informed as soon as I receive any additional information.

Is this supposed to be a bad change (in the view of most parents) or a good one?

Kind of mixed. This years 11's(last years 10's that did so well) will lose key players but their loss will strengthen this years 10's. So it depends on what age your child is. I'm kind of torn on the issue. I hate to see last years 10's broken up because I believe they were on the verge of going all the way.

What's the reason for the change? To come more in line with what other towns are doing?

What's the reason for the change? To come more in line with what other towns are doing? This was not a local thing. It came from Babe Ruth headquarters in Trenton NJ. USSSA,Little League and all the other baseball groups did the same thing. Why? I don't have a clue. Locally, it basically only affects a handfull of players in each age group.

Curious as to what is going on with the T-ballers. The play day was nice but there was nothing said to what was happening to these boys, no information as to when they'll start or when they'll be told what team or anything. Would've thought it would have been more formative.
