I've been told that MLB has now decided to not let Little Leagues use MLB team names after this year. Larry has decided to use flowers for names next year. Why flowers, I have no idea but it's going to be a real slobberknocker when the Roses and the Buttercups lock horns.

It is not like these city teams are going to beat them out of some extra revenue. Bunch of overpaid jerks.

I cannot find any reference to this on Google. I doubt very seriously the local league would use flowers for team names. Animals names, maybe.

By the way the football team has been the last few years The Daisey's would be a good name for them I think Lions is referring to this . Let's see. 3 years ago they went to the semi-finals undefeated. 2 years ago they narrowly missed the playoffs in a down year. Last year they made the playoffs and were defeated by a good Marion team in the first round. That doesn't sound like "Daisey's" to me. The thread has been derailed, big time.

ohhh....ok....I got it now.
You make a good point jmac. "The last few" implies that it includes more than 2 years of play, however I know he can't be talking about my Sr. Class, as we kicked some booty, and only lost one game the entire season. And if hogdog knows anything about how the Eagles played in the few years before that (excluding 02), then he would know that they are still doing better than they had been.
Anyways...I think it would be so cute to to see those baseball boys out there playing in their little pastel pinks and purples, with their cutesy little flower names.

Derailed for sure.
The whole point of this thread was to poke fun at the fact that silly rumors are almost always taken seriously in this town. I know it was taken seriously because of some of the responses I and others got around town. No matter how obsurd the rumor may be, if it is something Larry or someone at the complex is doing wrong it must be true. I don't know why it is, but folks in this town go out of their way to look for something to gripe about. We may be the 'poormouth' capital of the world.
Folk remember this, the grass is greener on the other side of the fence because it is growing on top of the septic tank. We need to be way more supportive of what we have in this town and way less critical.
I don't want any PM's asking who I am refering to. I am refering to no one in particular. We all must step it up a notch.
