You can tell this bunch has been in the weight room this summer. It's good to see our lineman looking so athletic. I'm excited that we're gonna have a "d-1" caliber lineman anchoring our line at center in the form of Rusty Gulledge, (For the next 3 years!!). Bubba Turner, Rod Brown, and Chad Stephenson particularly catch my eye as being play makers. I guess I should add C. C. kilcrease as another that is looking very strong. The whole squad is very scrappy looking, and please no one take offense if I didn't mention someone. This is just one fat boys opinion. How's it look to yall?

I just haven't seen enough of the preseason to say a lot, but I will say that Turner looked superb in the Maroon and White game. Made great decisions, delivered EVERYTHING on-target (the incompletions were the fault of the receivers) and even ran the ball well when he had to call his own number.

I wasn't TOO impressed with the completion/pass ratio, but if he threw 70% completions, I'd probably gripe about the other 30%, lol. It did seem like I saw a lot of unnecessarily dropped balls though. I loved seeing him throw that deep ball once or twice, those are the most fun plays to watch for me, because of the suspense building up while the ball is flying for a few seconds, lol. I enjoyed the game, but I didn't realize the maroon/white game was so short.

Game did seem shorter this year to me.
He threw really deep only twice. Bryant didn't run his route right on the second one (which was the only true bomb, about 50 yards) but still could have caught it if he had extended. The first one landed like a loaf of bread right into Brown's hands but fell neatly in between them without touching anything.
Other than that, off the top of my head, Bryant and Williams both dropped short, easy ones on the first few plays of the first drive. Seems like one of the sophomores also dropped one that he should have had. Those are the only ones that I can recall.
Turner seems to be so much more confident this year. Some of that is being a year older and being in the system a year longer, but that trip to the Quarterback Challenge probably didn't hurt.
