They don't really want the home fans parking on the East side, and they especially don't want them entering on that side.

Maybe it's me but the field looks better than it has in years. I can't remember the grass looking so good. Was anything done to field itself ? Maybe I'm just excited that the season is finally starting .

Yes, the field is in great shape for the start of the season. A lot of it has to do with the fact that there basically has not been anyone on the field all summer. I believe Coach T has done some treatments, to get rid of the weeds, but that is about all that I know of.

It's not just you. There finally was some high-end fertilization and maintenance work done in the off-season.
I don't know about all of you guys but I'm really looking forward to getting things started...more so than in any other season in the last few years.

I climbed to the top of the stands at the 50 the other day, and was tickled to death with the view. The whole pkg of our facility is very impressive now, in my opinion. The track looks sharp, even though it still lacks the last layer. The grass looks good, the band stand is gonna be just right. I think we have one of, if not the most scenic fields in the state, with Lucas Pond on one side, and the Credit Union Building on the other. Bring the crowd, and cheer these boys on.

The field did look really good tonight however I hope they will have better control over how people park tomorrow night. I forsee mass chaos without direction. Everyone tried to park by the first entrance.
What was that smell? Was it dead fish? Holy crap!!!!

Crap is exactly what it was.... some kind of manure around the trees on the outside of the fence

The field did look really good tonight however I hope they will have better control over how people park tomorrow night. I forsee mass chaos without direction. Amen and amen. I was thinking the exact same thing. I've been saying ever since I found out that they were going to shift the parking around that they'd better have people out there directing just as they do at every other stadium that has parking that isn't striped off. Getting out of there even last night with a light crowd was a nightmare; can't fathom what it's going to be like on a homecoming night. Part of the issue is that there is just one entry and one exit. And the people parked closest to that entry and exit seemed to be the last ones to leave. Also--and most of you won't realize this because you're in the bleachers--being down on the field is like being in a cage. There are just two gates in the whole stadium and they're on completely opposite ends. This is a huge mistake that I think (or at least hope) is rectified. There should be a small gate somewhere on the home side. If some sort of disturbance breaks out anywhere on that side--as has happened at times in the past--the police are either going to have to go a lonnnnnnng way to get into the bleachers, or try to scale the fence. And we don't exactly have the most athletic police force around here. I don't know who came up with that design but once again, there seemed to be little forethought involved. There is no reason why there couldn't be a small gate somewhere at the end of the 100-meters straightaway down on the concession-stand end. I think the fence is a great idea, but come on.
