Here's something that just seems like common sense to me. With us having a brand new track that we can all be proud of, it would be a nice gesture to rename the Crossett Relays the Bobby Richardson Relays, or either the Bobby Richardson-Crossett Relays in honor of one of the most successful track coaches in Arkansas High School History. If the state has already has already put him in the Hall of Fame, what is our delay? Suggestion number two. We have a field house named after Coach John Pierce and the football field named after Coach Lynn Yarborough, both of which I'm sure are well deserving. Yet why have we not given honor to the head football coach who gave us our only two state championships? Seems like renaming Yarborough Field, Yarborough- Johnson Field would be in order.

i would love to see crossett run a option or a I. it is scary to think what would happens when our boys get around the tackle hard for most teams to stop them.

I agree with bucknasty..........Coach Richardson and Coach Johnson are 2 men who have been and still are great men in our community.....As coaches, teachers, and even neighbors......They are very deserving of this honor.....They have been, and are still MAJOR ROLE MODELS for many High School kids and Adults still today......Bryant-Denny Stadium is in Alabama so we should be able to get Johnson/Richardson on something in Crossett....

alright, here's what we can do. We're gonna have two big ole parking lots after the remodeling, so we can have a Johnson lot, and a Richardson lot, with a little spot where the handicap parking is for Jeter. I keed!!, I keed!!

How about Pierce-Johnson Fieldhouse? And like someone else already said, the Bobby Richardson Crossett Relays or The Crossett Relays at Bobby Richardson Track.
These guys were the most winningest coaches Crossett has had.
You can take this a step further. Name the pressbox after someone. You may not have liked him but the late Charlie Parks was the voice of Eagle sports for a long time.

I don't think that you should go too crazy with "memorializing" things. After awhile it just gets watered down and doesn't mean anything. That sort of thing should be set aside for SUPERIOR accomplishments.
One name comes to mind when you talk superior accomplishments and Crossett High School athletics, and that's Bobby Richardson. Other people have done good things in the program, but Richardson went far beyond good and was great, and made the program great. I've looked before at the records and the titles and the number of times that he was selected as the state's track Coach of the Year. Crossett set the high-water mark for the entire state, even the region.
It's sad to see the current state of the track program--it isn't the priority that it once was--but at one time, nobody could touch the Eagles.

i heard the track team is supost to be pretty good this year Gonna have to recruit them out of the hallways. They don't have enough bodies to compete with the best teams. They've got basically nothing in the field and nothing on the track over the 400 meters. People who were a part of the track program even 10 years ago would be SHOCKED at how bad things have gotten. This is not Crossett track and field as everyone knows it. The new track is a start and more coaches would help, but the main thing is that track and field has got to become a priority again or you'll never see another state title at CHS.

Yeah, you definitely have to realize that football is a contact sport. If they wanted to win bad enough, it wouldn't bother them to move up and make contact for the extra yards. In most of our games, we've been able to do a DECENT job of scoring, but nowhere near good enough. Defense is what's killing the Eagles, it's almost impossible for them to score as many points as these teams have been scoring on them this year.
