I wasn't there tonight, but just from the looks of the score, they put up a fight. I also saw that McClellan won tonight, so that will give them more confidence next week against the Eagles. I think that game is our best shot at a win, not to mention the last shot.
BTW, Hamburg got spanked something awful tonight!

Crossett was ahead at halftime but just didn't have enough to keep Monticello from digging it out in the fourth quarter.
I was floored when I heard that McClellan won. Central was out of the playoffs and clearly mailed that one in.

Half Time was the Greatest !!!! The Boys were so excited and so was our fans. We really had a good chance to win tonight. It just did'nt happen. And my observation now is this : Hamburg has one and Monticello had one last night. Coach T has got to have 1 next year >>>>>>It's the Biggest Boy on the Team that can carry 3 to 4 men on his back straight up the middle 3,5,10 yards on each play and ending with a Touchdown. I saw it happen last night, they started out on the 6 yard line and inched their way to a touchdown. Who is this mystery player on our team for next year ????????? This position is a Must and we will name him "BULLDOZER"

That sort of player is a must in the type of offense that Monticello runs.
That player in the Crossett School District is Bull Tate.

okay but that is the most simple kind of offense to stop just stack the line and clog the holes. i am suprised that we couldnt stop it since hat is the kind of offense that crossett ran for so long

I agree that it doesn't take a defensive genius to stop it, but Wynne has run it for years under Don Campbell and basically nobody ever shuts it down. The only reason why Crossett beat Wynne in 2003 was five fumbles and two came on kicks.

i agree with that but i mean look what happened at viliona when the field was so wet that teh other problem with the run game if you aint go a line that you dont have much of a running game

If we have a guy next season that can consistently get 3-5 yards per carry, and match that up with a fast guy like Terrell Bryant that can take it outside, and possibly even mix in a few passes from time to time, we will be very hard to stop. Even without a passing game, they wouldn't know whether to stack the line or keep the outside covered.

I hope that we'll have Bull Tate at the power back position next year alongside Drew Williams. Can ya'll imagine how strong Rusty Gulledge is gonna be by next year. I know that he trained hard in the offseason this last year. If he puts in the time in the weight room like that again this year, he could be a real force. I'd love to see a Razorback Helmet on him some day. I think we've got some horses coming our way boys.

Excuse Me>>>>>Have I missed something here, You said we have a Bull Tate ?????? What grade is he in and are we not useing him yet ?????? I, don't remember his name called out during any game. I do see several big boys standing on the sideline now, I told Bruce I would stick one of them in and try them going up the middle. Whats hard to learn about that position. Give them the ball and BULLDOZE straight forward.
You Know just to get at least a couple of numbers on the board, then start throwing. I know Kyle has played Wide Receiver and is it Free Safety, I do like seeing that Ball Sailing threw the air and Kyle bringing it down. It's very exciting !!!!!!!

Tate was kicked off of the team this year before the season started. He's a sophomore.

Absolutely he does. Coming into this season, he was way ahead of where RCT was at this same stage of his football career.

Do you think he'll be on the team next year? I hope so..because I think he's just what we need. Doesn't Drew Williams play both ways a lot? If he does, he could just play linebacker next year (and rest on offensive possessions), and let Tate handle destroying the other teams linebackers and d-line. Also, I wonder if he's still working out, even though he's not on the team? I sure hope so..that way he'll have a head start for next year.

Tate told me that he definitely will be back.
I really think that Crossett's rushing problems have had more to do with blocking than with the backs in the backfield.
