I'd venture out and say that number is going to be pretty low, if any, at CHS. I think there are other things out there that they are more interested in abusing.

the thing is that steroids isnt just like testing for other drugs it cost alot more to test for them and i dont believe most schools if any do test in high school

I think there may have been at least 2-3 in my graduating class, but I don't know many of the guys on the team this year very well, so I dunno. I do think high school ball players look too hard for an advantage, and I've even heard of high school boys' dads taking them to get legal steroids for playing sports. I just don't understand why you'd ruin your health to win ball games. Also, I sometimes wonder if they know they'll probably be..well, obese...when they get off the roids lol

I'd venture out and say that number is going to be pretty low, if any, at CHS. I think there are other things out there that they are more interested in abusing. Let me clarify right now for anybody out there who might have been looking for something else to get mad at me about. The question was, "Do you think that HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS abuse steroids?" The question was not "Do you think that players on CROSSETT HIGH SCHOOL'S TEAM are abusing steroids?" My answer was in the affirmative to the question posed. I think anyone who would say no is delusional.

I know the question was not directed at CROSSETT HIGH SCHOOL players. I was only speaking from where I have experience. I didn't take any offense to the question and am not getting MAD. I am sure that steriods are a problem in high schools across the US. I don't think I was being DELUSIONAL. Funny though, I remember that same remark being made about me before somewhere. I guess, in my mind, I live in a Utopian society where we all get along and people aren't RUDE. YEAH RIGHT!

That post wasn't directed toward you, chsteacher. I just know how some people who read the board (yet don't post) like to take the things that I say out of context to use against me. I didn't want them to assume that when you mentioned CHS, that I too was speaking of CHS. I was speaking in general terms while you were speaking in specific ones.
To give you an example, in my first year here I wrote a column about the arrogance of athletes. It all was written in generalities except for a couple of examples, both of which referred to PROFESSIONAL athletes, and not even football players. Yet for some reason it filtered out through the football team that I had written a column "badmouthing Crossett football players." Over the course of the season I had players shout obscenities and throw things at me as I was standing on the sideline. And there were adults, including their own parents, who condoned and approved of it. I can tell you that after that, I had a whale of a great impression about this town in my first few months of living here.

I kinda did think it was directed towards me, since you quoted me. I wish I could change my username because everytime I post something, people always assume that I am defending CHS. Well, I do defend them SOMETIMES, but it is only because I feel like I am protecting them...same as I would my own children. I have learned, over the years, that most schools bad reps come from within, so I always try to make sure it's not coming from me. I hope you don't think we are all as rude as those students and parents treated you.

I quoted you because you mentioned CHS and I didn't want people to think that I meant CHS too. It never even occurred to me that you might think that I was talking about you. Sorry for the confusion...
I just know how people are, and some of them just sit around looking for something to get mad at me about, and next thing you know it would be all out there in the community that I had said that every player on the team has been shooting steroids.
WHICH I OF COURSE DID NOT SAY, JUST FOR THE RECORD...AND WOULD NOT SAY.

lol oohhh I know she didn't lol. I'm sure steroids don't help as much as people think they do at positions like QB, WR, and d-backs, because those guys need more skill than strength. But yeah, I honestly don't know of anyone on the team that is taking them right now. I guess I could be wrong though lol.

I think it is abundantly clear that no one on the Eagles team is on steroids! LOL ;D I took some heat for this comment today by some of my football players *coughs* CHAD, so I would just like to remind them that I am their biggest fan! Who needs steroids when you have natural talent! Win or lose you still make me proud.

Yeah, it seems like steroids would only give you an edge in a very close game anyway. I couldn't see them helping you beat an otherwise superior team, with all other things equal (both teams coming to play, etc.). I could be wrong though, I dunno. I'd rather the Eagles have a reputation as not abusing steroids/drugs and not cheating, but have a losing record... instead of them having the reputation of playing dirty, abusing roids/drugs, but winning a lot of games. There may be people that disagree with that, but oh well lol.
