Thursday May 24, 2007 - Football spring practice game What I saw was a group of players not afraid of hitting somebody and not afraid of being hit. Hmmmm. I even heard Eaglesvoice say it last night,,,,get your sunglasses out - the future's looking bright.

Man, I had no idea they already had the spring game, or I would have been out there to see it. I'd also like to know what offense we will be running. How did the defense look? That was our problem last year, and hopefully the Eagles will be able to tighten up on that side of the ball this year.

I heard, finally, that the Eagles were back in the Wing T in the spring. Good change, in my opinion.
What's funny is that when Ingram came here in 1999 the Wing T was the most commonly-used offense in the state. Now his team will be just about the only one using it because of the explosive popularity of the Spread.

Would you say we were more successful on offense in the wing-t? And also, shouldn't it be a slight advantage that teams will prepare to defend the spread mostly (since thats what most run), and we run something completely different?

I would say a slight advantage, yes. But not a huge advantage. The Spread has been the most favored offense only for a couple of years, so people haven't forgotten how to defend the Wing T. As for whether the Eagles will be more successful...I think that only time can tell that, but after last year, realistically, there is nowhere to go but up.

I talked to a few players this week......They say Coach T is fired up and the players are working hard....Seems like there is excitement about Crossett Football!!!! I think good things will happen........We have a BIG Strong Offensive line, with several weapons out of the backfield.......Looks like a little smash mouth football coming soon....

Yeah, I think our offense will be fine, but our defense better be ready to work also, going against offensive beasts like PA...
