Some of you had heard that Mike Edmoundson, (quarterback '76-'77), lost his wife Laurie to cancer this past thursday. I'm out here in Houston with him right now. Friday, we had just picked up the game on the internet when they said that Tyler had gotten a good lick. That was nice to here, but then Larry told everyone about Laurie, and how I was out here with him, and that everyone was sending their best out to him. You should have seen the room. They couldn't believe what a wonderful town we come from that something like that could happen!! Thank you very much larry. You brought a terrific smile to everyone's face during a very tough time. Mike wanted me to tell everyone thank you. It was a very classy thing to do.

That's the best thing about coming from a small, tightly-knit (in comparison to most) town- not only does everyone know each other, but most everyone cares about each other. It was indeed a great thing to do, and extremely classy.
