Ok complexed what is on the horizon for the complex this year? I know the 9 yr old regional is scheduled to be here but will there be any district or states tourneys. Or is it too early to know? Will it be 70 ft or 60 ft for the 11 and 12's? How many nachos will hogdog inhale this season? And finally, how many days into the season will it be when you get your first tail chewing?

U R correct sir, 9 regional commencing on 7/19 with a picnic/banquet/fan-player appreciation type event (not as structured like the 10's were last year) since no WS for 9's yet. Games start 7/20 on 2 fields! Wish we could figure out a BBQ style outdoor picnic type setting with a Home Run Derby featuring 2 hitters from all 16/18-or 20 teams, followed by a small fireworks display. We are open to IDEAS?!?! Really up to the CBRB if we go 70 ft. for 11 & 12's but we are going to attempt to fix both F2 & F3 to accommodate both 60 & 70 foot bases. I go to Sherwood for the State Babe Ruth Meeting on Saturday & to the HS Ump clinic in Hot Springs on Sunday. I'll know dates on District & State tourney's then! As of now we do not have any states unless someone turns 1 back. We will wait until the district meeting in El Do sometime (most likely) in February to know about a district tourney for any age. NOTE: Once we know the start dates of district tournaments, we work back-words to determine season start dates to finalize schedule, always like to try and give all-star coaches a minimum of 2 weeks practice B4 heading to a tourney, if at all possible! Tentative date for a/an Statewide Umpire (baseball & softball) Clinic is 4/14, more info on this later, but this year we want managers & coaches to audit the clinic. I'd still like to plan a Memorial Weekend Tournament Extravaganza for Baseball & Softball with the proceeds to go toward building batting cages within the confines or entrance of our facility. All Ideas, suggestions, help and VOLUNTEERS welcome. I'll pass along more info as it becomes available. Much thanks to Ed, Randall & Rick you clowns help me keep what's left of my sanity intact!!! PS - Looking forward to a huge BR Softball Regional in 2008, will avoid a baseball regional in 2008 to insure a total commitment to the girls! Also, all those who think poppaeagle would be a GREAT Local Tournament Director (assisted by myself & Woody) please say AMEN. Trust me R-PE most of the regionals I go to as an umpire, the guy I send my pic to, who pulls everything together in advance is seldom there because his or her kid is on a/an all-star team of another age group. As to start date of 1st. Butt Chewing, the lull may be over soon but the "instructions", actually never cease. Never forget, thats why I LOVE this JoB, I never really thought we'd ever have a complex (especially with this much future & potential) for us to grow into and have so much concern and passion over!!

We started sign up about this time last year didn't we?? ;D As of last Thursday ,when I talked to a board member, the board has yet to meet this year. Seems like we signed up the 2nd and 3rd Saturday of Feb last year and had the fun day around the middle of March.

The bases will be at 60' again this year. This was how the district voted to play this year. There will be only a handful of programs playing 70' this season, primarily the larger programs in Central Arkansas. those that I know are playing 70' are Cabot, Jr. Deputy, Russellville, and Maumelle.
60' Tournaments
District- June 22 -Magnolia State- July 6-Lake Village Regional- July 19 - Ft. Smith World Series- August 9 -Van Buren
12's won't even have to leave the state just like when they were 10.
If you have any questions as to why 60 and not 70 just give me a call bazeballmom3 or come to signup in the morning and I willl explain in more detail the reasons why.
