If you want some enjoyable reading this week, you have got to check out ANO's letters to santa. You'll laugh and some may even bring a tear. If everyone saw the world as a child does it would surely be heaven on earth.

I've always loved that section and in fact I loved the letters that I used to read in my local newspaper back home. I really anticipated seeing those things.
Even though it's a real chore, I volunteer to type a good portion of them in every year. We have other people on staff who do them too, but I always have enjoyed doing them so I do them to give other people a break.
As you probably can tell, we enter these EXACTLY as they are written, including spelling errors, punctuation peculiarities, etc. That actually is the most difficult part of typesetting them, because the editor in me wants to correct things automatically as I do with everything else. Letters to Santa are the only things that we ever run completely raw.
I'm glad that other people get the same enjoyment that we do with them.
