Police officers were dispatched to the home of Houston Nutt, head
football coach for the University of Arkansas, at approximately 3:15
this morning following several disturbance calls from neighbors. Coach
Nutt's neighbors described witnessing an athletic young black male
throwing eggs at the Nutt residence. Police found shoe prints on the
lawn as well as several empty cartons of eggs.
Police investigators stated that as many as three dozen eggs were
thrown at the two-story dwelling, but that no eggs actually hit the residence.
Several eggs sailed over the house and landed in neighboring yards and
driveways. As many as 8 eggs were found in the hedges located in front
of the house, and half a dozen more were dropped near their containers.
Police future stated that the distribution of the eggs in a random,
uncontrolled manner leads them to suspect Razorback quarterback Robert
Johnson probably acted alone in the attempted vandalism.
