worst stadium?

There is a thread on FF that is asking who has the worst stadium in 5A. There is someone on FF, who is stating that Crossett has one of the worst stadiums in the state for our classification. Personally I do not agree with that statement, but I am wanting to know what everyone else thinks.

His main argument is that the band stand is on the visitor's side, and that the stadium has not changed since his father played there.

Let me know your thoughts on the condition of our stadium!

Whomever it is doesn't have a clue, or obviously hasn't traveled to any of the Pulaski County-area schools.

Crossett doesn't even have the worst in the conference. The worst one I've seen at this level of play is at Mills. Before two years ago, Monticello would have been only a step above that.

Now keep in mind, since I'm a member of the media I pay great attention to the condition of press boxes. Removing that element generally makes most Arkansas stadiums pretty close to being the same.

In the Southeast, I'd put it like this (best to worst):

1. Monticello (two press boxes, decent parking close to the stadium, new concessions and bathrooms close to the action and facilities on both sides, new home side with many chair-backed seats, an "intimate" feel; downside, still not enough room on the sidelines although a big improvement)
2. Stuttgart (best press box in south Arkansas, but minuses for unpaved parking and tons of flying insects; visitor's side also isn't very big)
3. White Hall (big press box but built without practicality in mind, spacious grandstands on both sides and facilities on both sides; big minus for poor parking)
4. Crossett (is deteriorating rapidly on the home side and the press box clearly wasn't built by anybody who ever had to work in one, but the stadium is very spacious in its standing room)
5. Central (better than most people would expect, but bars over the windows of the press box make it difficult to see; also the press box is situated too low and rude people want to stand up right in front of you)
6. North Pulaski (home side is massive, visting side is dinky; press box is sky-high, unheated, dank, moldy, smelly, leaky and frigid in November--can't close the windows to keep warmer because you can't see out of them if you do; PA announcer is grating)
7. Oak Grove (haven't seen it but heard it's horrible)
8. Mills (looks like nothing has been done to it since the '50s; wooden bleachers about ready to cave in, built in the middle of the woods, vines invading the press box, horrible lighting, etc. etc.)

All of this likely will change after alignment next year. PA probably will have the nicest stadium.

1st time poster. You can guess who I am by my screen name. Oak Grove BY FAR had the worst stadium I've ever been to.
Going by the schedule we will play this year(and next) I'll rank them by number from 1 to 10. Well, the ones I know of anyway.

Magnolia- 8 Home side is fantastic. Visitor side is to low and a terrible sun field for the visitors. Especially at 7:00 when will play them next year. Visitor concession is just ok but not big enough. Adequate parking.

Hamburg- 6 Visitor side is fine if not comfortable because of the concrete. Since I stand on the track the whole game I never enjoyed that pleasure. Concession is too small for big games like the Ashley County Bowl. Stands are too small for big games. Not enough parking

McGehee- 6 Visitor stands are starting to show thier age. Concession is hard to get to.

Pulaski Robinson- Never been there. If Oak Grove and Mills are an example, then I'm not expecting much.

White Hall- 9 Really good stands. In fact I've been to the home side there and I'm not sure the visiting stands aren't better. Good concessions. Not a 10 because they need more parking in my opinion.

West Helena- 3 Wore out. Bathrooms only on far side and they always smell. Poor lighting. Small concession. Of course when I've been there, there is no crowd.

Mills- 2 poor rest room facilities. Small stands. Stands in poor condition. Concession too small. Parking is ok but hard to get to.

PA- No clue.

Monticello- 9 New set up has improved the whole place. While setting on concrete is not the most comfortable (see Hamburg) it is much better than what they had before. Nice concessions. Nice restrooms.

LR McClellan- No clue ( see Mills and PR)

While we don't go there anymore Stuttgart would be a 10. Thier facilities are very nice. Almost get a nose bleed they are so high.

I've seen the plans for building the band shell on the home side. It will be nice. Not sure it will be ready by seasons start.
