Ok guys ,he's practicing now. Will he play? DMAC says yes but no word from the coaches. I say there is a possibility he will play on a limited basis.

No way. It would be the stupidest move that they could make. You find out what Felix Jones and the other kid can do (the scatback...Michael something, his name escapes me) and let the chips fall. You're not going to win this one anyway at this point.
I think this is a mind-game thing with Pete Carroll. Will he play, won't he play? And you can guarantee that every 310-pound USC lineman is going to be stomping the crap out of that toe every time that McFadden gets on the field. It would be absolutely insane to put him out there. I can't seem them doing it.

I wonder if there is an NCAA rule against a steel or carbide toe shoes? We're on the same length because I was thinking that exact thing today.

Those type of shoes are indeed illegal.
McFadden will play. He won't get twenty carries, probably not fifteen, but he'll get some touches. Perhaps in the slot, too.

It was reported that he looked very good in todays practice. You have to remember too that the media got to see only 20 minutes of practice and it was the first 20, when the team isnt' really doing anything. I'm not even sure that they were wearing full pads. I still hope they hold him out. I hope they hold him out even if he is supposedly 100 percent. The guy didn't even have a toe less than a month ago, so I don't know how he could be 100 percent. Give the guy a chance to recover for when we REALLY need him. I still think that we're seeing gamesmanship here on Arkansas' part. Gives USC something else to think about. Felix Jones is a great weapon at tailback. Let's not push it. I can see them throwing McFadden out there and then passing the football, or even lining him up as a wideout and throwing to the opposite side of the field. Hopefully though it won't have the same results as Matt Jones at wideout and Tarvaris Jackson's running the sneak from a few years back.
