I saw part of the Oklahoma-Oregon game today, as I'm sure many of you did, and I noticed something interesting about the starting lineups.
Out of both of the team's starting offenses and starting defenses combined, there was just ONE player who was from either of the states that their respective colleges are in. There was one Oregon offensive player who actually is from Oregon. There wasn't a single Oklahoma player on either side of the football who is from Oklahoma.
There were players from California, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Pennsylvania. Even Louisiana (on Oregon's team!).
At the University of Arkansas, the entire defensive front is from Little Rock. Out of 22 starters I'd guess around half are from Arkansas.
So what does that tell you?

What we've always been told is that the U of Arkansas has to take a lot of in-state recruits because it simply cannot recruit enough players from outside of Arkansas. But who the heck wants to move to Oregon??? Somebody convinced players from Pennsylvania, Louisiana and Illinois to go to Oregon. I would think that it would be much easier to get some kid from those places to relocate to Fayetteville than to freaking Oregon. Oregon isn't known for its love of sports period, much less football.

i agree heath....i think nutt feels some kind of loyality or something that he has to have a lot of arkansas kids in fayetteville...he has always said he has to get the ar kids....i think he is right if they are the quality kids to win with....but i have always thought the hogs staff lacked the ability to really evaluate top quality recruits, unless they are no brainers....
