Bryant's rated a three-star recruit on both Rivals and Scout, but the comments about him suggest that he's even better than that. He just hasn't been in one place enough or had enough off-season work to show any more than that. One of the sites said that he is a better prospect than Damian Williams was. Of course Williams doesn't have the character questions that Bryant has had.
I've seen him ranked as high as the seventh-best recruit in Louisiana. That's saying a lot given Louisiana's football prominence.
This was interesting too...punch up his name in the "Web" search field on Yahoo! and take a look at the "also try" which is dictated by key words that other visitors have used. The suggestions that I was given were "Gabriel Bryant yards," "Gabriel Bryant Eagles" and "Gabriel Bryant Crossett." Tells me that a lot of LSU fans were desperately seeking information on him.
Also, interestingly, "Gabriel Bryant said."

he was fun to watch. the only thing i dont understand is why we kelpt trying to go long to him so many times a game they should have used him as a distraction and thrown short passes since they where covering him 3 on 1.

Good enough that LSU offered him a scholarship last year, I guess. That's what I heard/read a while back. Anyone watching those tapes has to give Turner credit for putting those balls so far down field, and in the right place to be caught. I don't think he's Damian Williams good, but he is good. Where is he playing now?

Scholie may or may not have been pulled by LSU at least partially because, as far as anyone has been able to figure out, Bryant isn't playing this year. Hodge's new coach kicked him off of the team during spring practices, from the reports that we were getting.
I actually think that he is Damian Williams good, at least on his raw ability. He might even have more upside because I think he's probably more athletic. But he hasn't had the benefit of playing receiver since junior high the way that Williams did. Bryant played receiver ONLY when he was here. And he didn't have Mitch Mustain and Springdale's offense to help him pad the numbers, either.

Agreed. His attitude will lose his scholarship at some point, if it hasn't already. Hopefully I'm wrong, but...you know..

The shollie has already been withdrawn and his name has been removed as a commit. He is still on the watch list for LSU but so are 100 other kids, 99 of which ar currently playing their senior seasons. With athletics the way they are today i honestly don't think LSU is going to be willing to take a chance on him.

He was the best HS receiver that I have ever seen in person. Skill wise He had no weaknesses . Good routes, size, speed, good hands, ability to adjust to the football, 1 on 1 match ups always in his favor. I have played against a few guys that have made it to the league at receiver and he is skill wise far superior.

Yeah, attitude is a huge factor in ANY sport. Or life for that matter.

what made GB so good was the fact he could run fast but also jump over all the defenders

He's a legitimate low 4.5 but is SO quick, has great leaping ability very good height and incredible hands. He's the best I've ever seen at this level by a LARGE margin.

Take Bryant away and what would the season have been last year minus his 1000 yds. Remember how the receiving corp looked preseason against lake village, except for martin there wasn't a real threat. Things were not looking to good until he arrived. If he was here this year more than likely the same production would have came from Bryant. He is a legitimate deep threat. he is a high school dB worst nightmare in space. How many kids can sit out and still have the college opportunities that he has? He may or may not wind up at LSU but he will probably be D1 somewhere.

where-ever he decides to go I bet it won't take the coaches but a couple of days to see what a bad apple he is and how he can bring down an entire team with his bad attitude

Wow. So he spent yet another football season at a different school before moving back to Jonesboro AGAIN.
