Rumors or facts? Broyles will step down Saturday and Nutt will be bought out. Herring interviewing for OK State. More players saying they will leave if Nutt is ousted. Will it ever end?

I think that Broyles is gone. Whether or not Nutt leaves, I'm unsure. I kind of think not.
Chuck Barrett went on this rampage today about how "You people are ruining the program" and that it will go south in the same way that the basketball program did after Nolan.
Well, I don't care if it does, just like I'll take the crummy seasons that we've had under Stan Heath as opposed to taking the option of keeping Nolan.
NUTT has ruined the program, not the fans. And truth be told, he might already have been gone had Broyles not been protecting him.

I agree , I don't think Nutt is gone. However . I think he will be on a very short leash next season. With a new AD I think Stan Heath is gone.
I don't totally agree that Nutt has ruined the program. He is far from blameless but I do believe the media has played as much a part as him over the last 18 months . Especially the NWA media.
So who replaces Broyles? Harold Horton? Ken Hatfield? Terry Don Phillips?
I agree that it is time for Broyles to go. He should have left 5-10 years ago. But he has done alot for arkansas and you can't take that away from him. Arkansas has, without a doubt some of if not the finest , on campus facilities in the nation.

The lever has been pushed and the bowl is swirling. The only two coaches I rather have not go down the drain are Tracy Rocker and Louis Campbell.
Frank will announce his retirement at 9:30 Saturday morning. He will already be stripped of hiring and firing powers. He's only a figurehead till he retires.
HDN will take the buyout. He's been offered 2.5 million and has countered with 7 million. They will settle for around 4 to 4.5 and he will sail off.
They will can Danny Nutt and Herring will head to Ok State.
I have no clue who they'll get to replace Nutt, but whoever it is will inherit a good football team.

I just don't trust his investigation skills or sources. He tends to report rumors that fester and build on Hogville. I don't think they buy Houston out at this time. That's not saying they won't do it after next season. I think Houston stays for now so as to not lose what recruits they did get.

They are offering 5 mil and he countered with 7 mil. It's being said that the university is set to lose more than 7 mil in donations this year if Nutt stays. I just don't think he survives it. Suggs statement in the paper today is carefully worded. He's only one vote in this deal. He's on the short end of the stick now. Broyles know the only way for him to go out gracefully is to resign. If he doesn't, he will be pushed aside. Nutt is done as well.

Any ideas on who may replace Frank Broyles? What about HDN?
I don't think of this as a bad thing really, it'll be nice to get some new people in and get a fresh start. I do hope Reggie Herring stays, and Tracey Rocker stays.

When was the offer made to Nutt? He and McFadden were in Dallas yesterday with the Doak Walker award.
thatoneguy, don't expect Nutt to be AD. My guess is they will try and lure Terry Don Phillips back. there is a possibility Ken Hatfield will get the job. He recently returned to NWA and he turned down UCA a few weeks ago.
KATV has been reporting things alot differently than everyone else. Of course that could be due to the fact they have the broadcast rights to Arkansas sports.

Oh, sorry outlaw, I wasn't clear in what I said, now that I go back and read it. I meant who may replace Broyles, AND who may replace HDN if he is bought out...sorry about that.
I was also thinking Ken Hatfield would be good, but what about a replacement for Nutt, if he ends up leaving the U of A, for whatever reason?

I still don't think Nutt is gone, but should he be I really don't have a clue. Everyone is screaming Butch davis but he just got hired at North Carolina and I don't see him leaving so quickly. Too much for him to lose.I just don't think any "name " coach is going to leave a program at this point. Nutt stays until end of next season.
From what I am reading Broyles resignation will not take affect until the end of the year when his current contract runs out. thus giving the University ample time to search for a replacement.

I was listening to one of the sports talk radio shows yesterday (don't remember which one), and I noticed the guys were actually admitting that Broyles was pushed out. I think this is the first time that they've ever admitted anything like that for sure, usually they just say they aren't going to speculate because they don't know.
Oh, and I also think that S. Heath should be more worried than HDN, especially if he doesn't make the ncaa tournament. I agree that it would be hard to replace Nutt with a really good coach right now, but I think Heath would be easier to replace. I don't see why a new coach wouldn't want to come into a program that has been proven it can be dominant, and has great athletes already there.
