From what I'm picking up Calipari could the next Hog coach. 8 year deal worth $20 million plus $900K annuity each year. Now that Kentucky has hired BCG the Arkansas job is a bit hotter. Chancellor White is reported to be determined to out do Frank with this offer. If it all pans out Calipari would be highest paid coach in college basketball. That is until Donovan is rewarded hugely for winning back to back titles at Florida.

At this point, I'm not counting on anything. Calipari would be great at Arkansas though, and I'd be ecstatic if we could acquire him. And have you ever read the Memphis Tigers basketball forum? Talk about rude and obnoxious, they are some of the worst I've ever seen

Guys, this matter has been moved over to a contracted search firm. That's a whole different ball game. There's no telling what's going on behind closed doors, but I wouldn't trust any alleged "inside info."

I have found my sources to be right the majority of the time. I know a firm has been hired and they aren't apt to leak any info. But a timetable has been set. The UofA expects to have a coach in place no later than Friday and it could possibly be sooner. John White is involved in this process and assured the BOT Friday that he was. Broyles is a lame duck and carries no clout among his peers at this point. And I will go on record and state that a new AD will be named by late summer. Hatfield is campaigning hard for the job.

Calipari would be a good choice and would bring in some really good ball players to the HILL.

Hatfield has my vote for sure. I can't name someone that I'd rather have up there. Calipari would be great at Arkansas, IMO. But like I said, I'm not counting on any inside information, because of the fact that this firm is running the show now. And whoever is the "inside man" at the U of A and leaks all this information to Fox Sports needs to be found and fired. It is ridiculous how much sooner Fox Sports gets stories compared to even the Arkansas media. If I was in charge up there, I'd put a lot of effort into ending this if possible.

Oh okay, I'll check that out. I've looked at Rivals.com, but don't you have to pay to be a member or something like that? Also, is this where you got the Calipari information, or is it from a private source?

I hope we didn't pay much to get Pelphry, because he isn't worth it. What a crock. We're getting somebody even less proven than Stan Heath.
I'm off of the train again.

I see Pelphry as a better hire than Stan because he has more get up and go and will be more involved than Stan was. Plus he has been under some pretty good names in coaching and should put some fire under our boys behinds to make them want to be winners.

hmm...well, what do Billy Donovan and Jimmy Dykes say about it, outlaw? I clicked on it on rivals.com, and it said 'log in to see what jimmy dykes and billy donovan say' or whatever. Needless to say, I can't login...so I figured maybe you could fill us in on what they said about him, because I know nothing about him. What style of offense and defense does he like to use?

I think Hog fans will warm up to him quickly. He is supposed to be one heck of a recruiter with Donavan giving him credit for bringing in the talent at Marshall and Florida.

Looks good so far. At least he put on the Razorback hat (whereas Altman laid it on the table) and did the hog call. I will definitely support him.

He's just a "fair weather" fan!!! I've been around a long time for a fair-weather fan. This guy is going to have to do a lot of winning to get me back. I'm sure I'm not the only one. At least he has a shot to do that...doesn't matter if Houston Nutt wins a national title, he's not ever getting me back.
