...Aunt Ester and Leon Spinks. That's what this whole mess with Houston Nutt and the e-mailgate is turning into. I've just about had enough.

Speaking about "the good of the program"...if Houston Nutt really had that as his top priority, he would have resigned in December. Period.

As far as the good of the program goes, I think those people who are still after him are crazy if they think they are benefitting the program at this point. The harassment towards Nutt has become so severe that I don't think any half-decent coach would give this program a passing glance. Heck, I'd be hesitant at this point(if I had coaching skills, of course), and I consider myself a very diehard fan. I'm like Eddie, I just wish it would all go away. Oh, and I like the new Eagles logo up top..looks pretty nice.

I've still got a little tweeking to do.

Oh, I don't doubt that he has some amount of responsibility in the whole thing. The main thing I would worry about as a new coach here would be having my personal life invaded by fans who didn't like me, whether I did something wrong or not lol.

Don't misunderstand this as an attack on you, Mr. C, but people keep throwing up that business about his "personal life." The deal is, I don't think that anybody went after Houston Nutt because of who he was or wasn't messing around with behind his wife's back. I don't think that anyone cares about that...I don't. But when you're a state employee, how you use state funds is something that the public has a right to know. The whole reason that Nutt's cell-phone records were subject to FOI is because his phone is paid for (in part) by your tax dollars.
According to our state and federal laws, you, therefore, have a right to know how he is using that telephone.
If it simply was a matter of his "personal life," this is a non-issue. But it isn't and never was. People from the Chuck Barrett camp who are trying to make it about that simply are using smoke-screens and trying to walk around the real point.
To me the most damning bit of evidence in the whole thing was how much contact that Nutt had with Teresa Prewitt during the time that she was sending out those e-mails that he supposedly knew nothing about.
Again, Nutt should have resigned in December. The 18-month nightmare would have been over for the program if he simply would have done that.

Yeah, it's definitely a bad situation, especially now...it's basically a lose lose situation for anyone who wants him gone. If he stays, that is obviously bad. If he goes, we would doubtfully find even a half-decent coach that could break .500 in the SEC at this point in time. Hopefully the new AD that's coming in can open up the wallet and bring in someone really great if everyone still wants him gone by then, and I'm sure they will.

Let me ask you this. Those of you who want him gone, who would you like to replace him (someone very realistic...b/c we have seen how getting hopes up turns out)? Just curious

Just curious No way they could get a coach without an ad in place. They would be forced to go the interim route if they did it now. I really think Jimmy Johnson would take the job if JFB was out of the picture.

What about after the end of the season? I don't see him going anywhere before this seasons end, but after that, I wonder if we'd have any chance of getting a decent coach, hence me wondering who some possibilities were lol.

I don't have a suggestion for who they might get and I don't even care, as long as they don't try to resurrect one of the old Arkansas head coaches.
