I go to church with the maintence director. Buses were found running by the band director after Friday nights game. While over at the bus shed with the police doing a report the bus drove by. The pursuit begin. To make a long story short the chase finally ended in PB around Grider field. To the officers surprised they found a "smiling" 10 y/o old Dumas student. This was the 2nd time within the month that the bus lot had been broken in to and bused moved. The bus run over 2 sets of spike strips, that apparently did not work. The 10 y/o old supposely had the bus pegged out at 67 mph for most of the trip.
Contrary to early reports, the stolen school bus was not a factor in an accident at Noble Lake.

They actually had video of the bus driving on the highway on channel 7 last night.

Is the kid out of his mind or what? Seriously, is he "right"? I really dont know the answer to that question. I do know he was released to his parents, probably to face nothing more himself. I did hear yesterday that the mother was charged with the child violating the curfew ordiance. Im sure there wont be to much to that either. Im sure the school will seek money for the damages done to the school bus and bus shed. |

As I understand it, he is the 10 year old son of a 25 year old woman - kids raising kids. Is there a father in the household? |
