I wish they would go back to the days of the Eaglettes being a pep squad instead of a dance team

I wish they would go back to the days of the Eaglettes being a pep squad instead of a dance team I'm with ya on that one. Not trying to put down what we got but I liked what we used to have better.

Nobody has pep squads anymore, at least not in Arkansas. Nor drill teams. My ex-girlfriend went to a huge high school in Ohio and her sister was on a drill team there.

And it's a darn shame they don't. Pep squads did just that - they kept the school spirit up and kept it high. It seems like now at the football games, it's just not cool to be enthusiastic.

Gotta agree with you about the enthusiasm and cheering. Of course when I say it, it causes a ruckus.
Hamburg Junior High tried to start a pep squad about three years ago but it disappeared as quickly as it started. That all boiled down to a question of racism over the selection of cheerleaders. To try to keep everyone appeased they formed this "open" pep squad that anyone could join. I can't remember seeing them more than one time.

Hamburg tried a pep squad with the Senior High last year. The principles wife was the sponsor. Probably around 15-20 students in it. It was good while it lasted. I guess it was done away with when they basically ran the principle off. Too bad, we as well as anybody else need all the cheering sections we can get.

I misspoke in my earlier post. Hamburg Junior High DOES still have a pep squad. Not sure how active it is but it was there cheering in tonight's game. The Junior Lions won by the way, 19-0. And boy, James Morton is something else. He had an interception return for a TD that was just unbelievable.

I saw him the first couple of games. When I looked at my pictures, he was in almost every one of them.
