Kudos for a great job by the band of late. The band has been hanging in with us throughout most of every game, keepin' things cookin. I love the John Lee Hooker music. It reminds me of the way Roby does things by keeping it fairly simple to play so you can hammer. I can imagine that the kids are having a ball playing that stuff. When you've got a crowd like that, you want something you can show out on, and that's what the Eagle Band is doing. Keep whuppin' them drums! I wonder, can the band be amplified?

I've complimented Mr. McLaren for the John Lee Hooker song. Maybe next year it could be Howlin' Wolf.

I'll be chaperoning the band tonight, so the ones that do make the trip to PA be sure you make some noise for them!

You will be proud to know that at the marching contest Tuesday night we received a 2, 1 is the best and 4 is the worse. We played our best Tuesday night at contest since football season has begun. As a band student I have to admit that Boom Boom is a really fun tune to play. One reason I think that the band is shrinking is that it is not cool to be in band anymore as you are considered a "band geek."

If you didn't already know, the band received excellent ratings at contest last week in ElDorado. I will say this about the band, I have yet to see one (that we have played) yet that could stand up to ours.

I agree, k.d. The band has made a lot of improvement. To me they seem to be a better playing band than in past years. I know you were a band member, so I am not trying to step on toes, but the band used to play not so well together back 6-7 or more years ago. They seem to have been a tighter group the last few years.

Hey, I was a band geek and proud of it! My kids were/are band geeks, also. They love it.

They seem to have been a tighter group the last few years. No toes stepped on here! I was in the CHS band from 1992-1996. We won many awards, including my senior year when we won Superior ratings at contest. I didn't miss one football game from the time I was in 9th grade until I graduated and for me that is an irreplacable (sp?) memory! I just remember band being fun and I don't remember it ever being a "geeky" thing. There was a hell of alot of football players and cheerleaders in band at that time, so that has to say something. No offense to Mr. Mac, but we had CT (whom I still adore) and he accepted nothing but greatness.
