Well it's finally here. As a coach and former player in the Crossett leagues, I urge everyone to throw their suppoprt behind this and make each and every team feel welcome. Help make this a lasting memory for those participating and watching.
As a coach I was reminded last night why I do this. I was in line to checkout at Wal mart and one of my players from the league team snuck up behind me and gave me a hug and siad "How ya doing coach?, How are the All Stars playing?" He then proceeded to tell me about going fishing. Made me feel good that he wanted to share things me. Sometimes we ,as coaches, get caught up in winning or losing and forget we are their for the kids. But when a child is glad to see when the season is over you know you made a good impression.
I may not always make the right descisions on the field and I may never please all the parents(those moms can be rough sometimes, just picking moms!). But I love every minute I spend on the fields with my players. I can tell you something about every kid i have coached in the last 6 years. When the season ends after this regional i'll be looking forward to the next.
