It is my understanding that the Varsity Lady Eagles had only lost one game as of 4/14. Don't know how it went last week. If someone knows, please post.

The lady eagles have 2 losses on the year. Their wins include wins over the Arkansas democrat 5A ranked # 2 malvern and a split with # 3 White hall. They also have a win over 2A #1 Ranked Parkers Chapel. The lady eagles swept PA today 12-0 and 11-0. If you haven't seen them yet they have 3 doubleheaders left. With an important doubleheader against Monticello at home on the 28th. Come out and support the ladies.

I was told by the staff themselves that controversy sells papers not feel good stories. This is how they run their paper, this is their mentality.

What they feel to realise or care about is Crossett is a small town. this isn't Little Rock. We do ,in fact, enjoy reading about our LOCAL teams whether they doing good or bad. I always get the excuse that a certain isn't doing well so it's hard to write anything positive. well guess what ANO! We have a team very well and still no coverage!!!! If it's not negative about the district ,they don't want to print it! That's the opinion of the majority of Crossett.

They seem to do a better job of covering Hamburg sports.

Lady Eagles beat Monticello 4-0 in both games of todays double header. Monticello previously was the conference leader prior to the game. The wins today virtually wins the the conference title outright for the ladies who only have one loss in conference play. Their final game will be against McClellan on Thursday. Come out to see the ladies complete their Championship season Thursday.

For the record, they are playing Pulaski Robinson on Thursday and two reporters came to the Monticello game yesterday; Heath Waldrop and another younger guy.

For the record, they are playing Pulaski Robinson on Thursday and two reporters came to the Monticello game yesterday; Heath Waldrop and another younger guy. But why wren't they there earlier in the season? Why haven't they provided coverage of the guys? They believe if it happens this Thursday it is no longer newsworthy when next weeks paper is published.

Here is something for the ones that think the ANO does as good a job covering Crossett as the Ledger does Hamburg. I am talking schools activities here now. Take both papers this week and just look inside. There will be no comparison.

I didn't say I supported the new observer, just that there were reporters there. Reporters have only been at two of the games this season. They probably came Monday because it was one of the last games just to say that they came or maybe because it was a very important game to the Lady Eagles. If you look in the paper you will see an article about the Monticello game and what went on.

The article was very informative though. Lady Eagles are 23-2 though ,and that was like the 2nd ,maybe 3rd, time I recall seeing anything about them in the paper. I'm one of those people that has great interest in both the boys and girls teams. I love baseball and I'm just now getting into fastpitch, but with me coaching in the local league I depend on the paper to keep me updated because I can't attend the games. As always they have done a poor job. If it wasn't for parents of players and students, i wouldn't get any valuable info.

I agree. I've been reading other messageboards on this site and I read that a certain reporter was supposed to come to that Eldorado tourney a few weeks back and he didn't show. I also don't understand why they cover the Hamburg girls, don't they have their own paper? There is an article right beside the Monticello-Crossett one covering the (5-9) Hamburg softball team.
