Crossett began its conference schedule on Friday in a doubleheader with Stuttgart, which it split.
The Eagles look pretty good offensively. Defense is going to the be the problem. They're thin in some areas, particularly in the pitching staff. CHS has had talented depth at pitcher for the last several years but this year there simply aren't that many pitchers on the roster.
I'm definitely no great judge of baseball talent, but Gvona Turner appears to me to be the most talented baseball player that Crossett has produced in a number of years. His batting power is unreal and his arm strength is unequaled. I really feel as though he could play major-college baseball, and I'm unsure when that happened last in Crossett (if ever).
Also a scout from West Alabama was there on Friday looking at Matt Campbell, although Campbell already has orally committed to an offer to play at UA-Fort Smith. West Alabama has some interest in Campbell as a football player as well.

The last Eagle baseball player to play D-1 baseball on scholorship was probably Daniel Robinson. He was a 4 year letterman for Louisiana Tech and played several years of Minor League ball in the Marlins organization. The most successful former Eagle, at the D-1 level, was Mike Loggins. He was an All American outfielder for Arkansas.

I've heard of him and it seems like I have read some about his background but I really don't know much of him. Was he the only one from here who went major college (Louisiana Tech is mid-major)? I know that there are a handful who went straight to the pros.
