How did the 7th graders do? And where are all our Eagle posters? I'm proud of our boys! They played a good game Friday night and never quit. Worried a little bit about the 2 on-side kicks, but I bet that is something the coaches will take care of this week. Defense made some really big plays when they needed to. I think it was the most exciting game of the season so far. Hope the next few games are big blow outs, don't think I can take the drama. Not looking past the next 3 opponents, but wouldn't it be great to take on Monticello with a 6-2 record. One game at a time though! Keep up the good work guys. We are proud of you!!

They lost 20-0, but had several players miss the game due to Saturday School. These kids are playing pretty well for only getting to practice each day 35 minutes. They practice the 1st period of each class day and some of the kids are tardy for their second period and getting D-hall...... They played the same team today and tied 8-8, and was stopped short on the 1 yard line to start the game. We have some great looking tailbacks and several good looking skilled positioned players....

Man, what has happened to Crossett Eagles football. Where is Ed Johnson? Where is Redbeard (Coach Mac) when you need him?

Man, what has happened to Crossett Eagles football. Where is Ed Johnson? Where is Redbeard (Coach Mac) when you need him? Where have you been? Ed Johnson retired years ago! You have missed the entire Teodis Ingram era! Mac is still around and so is Jeter. Eagle football is coming back. New coach ,new system, better discipline. Give them time. Good group of kids coming up.

I know that you're not implying that the group of boys coming up are any better than the ones that are there now!! This group of seniors went undefeated as 8th graders and only lost one game in the 9th grade. Of course, for one reason or another, we have lost several of the guys that were on that team. But, IMO, this group of seniors has plenty of talent and character. I would say that there is not one guy on this team that is out for himself. They are all team players and care a lot about each other and the team. This comes from great leadership from the senior class! I know that there is talent galore in Crossett, and I look forward to seeing this group of 7th-8th-9th graders when they get to play varsity ball. I hope that they will all keep interest in playing and be leaders among their classmates on the field and in the classroom!! I think that with our current coaching staff, this will likely happen. For now I say, GO EAGLES, BEAT MILLS!!! And have a wonderful Homecoming!!

No one is implying the kids coming up are better than the seniors. Although it should be understood that junior high success doesn't translate into senior high success. It takes all 3 classes to make a great to make a great senior high team. With that being said, I say again we have some good athletes coming up.

I knew that wasn't what you were saying. We are in complete agreement!! I love our EAGLES and hope that they have many years of continued success. Coach Ledford has put together a mighty impressive staff and I look for good things to continue happening.

Glad we agree! Eagle fans need to stick together and support Coach Ledford, his staff, and all the kids grades 7-12 in the program.

I knew that Coach Johnson retired years ago. My point was that Eagles football hasn't been anywhere close to what it was since his era ended. In the 80's, the only question was how bad Crossett would beat Hamburg. It was almost a ten-year run there where Crossett beat Hamburg every year. Even in 1990, when we were really bad, Crossett could at least count on beating Hamburg (that was the only game we won that year). As for Coach Mac, nothing but respect. He made a man out of me. Glad to hear he's still coaching. Is he still doing junior high?
