Well...it only took BabyBoyEagle till Saturday afternoon (1.5 days)to scrounge around in the garage and pull out his glove, 1 baseball, and hand me a catcher's mit. The warm up of the arm...has officially begun.

I'm excited! For the first time in 9 years I won't be coaching Cal Ripken and I will get to see some high school and jv baseball. By the way , we are looking for a few more 13 year olds for a spring traveling team. Send a few good ones my way if you hear of any.

Ya know, I enjoyed every minute of my coaching, (and that was a lot of coaching), but I'm really enjoying not having to. It's great when they move into playing school ball. There's nothing like seeing your boy for the first time in that Crossett Maroon. It beats every all-star suit on every thing he's ever done. I'll never forget the first 7th grade football game mine was in. I topped the hill going into the stadium the way we used to, and there in the south end zone, we're our boys, dressed all in maroon for the Magnolia game. For me, that was as proud a moment as I could have. And now, a split second later, we're through with football for good, and starting the last season of baseball. It sure don't last long boys.
