I would like to say we had a very and I mean very good crowd at the Maroon/White scrimmage last night.
The night started with the 8th and 9th grades scrimmaging. Very promising group of athletes. Both teams have some big linemen and talented QB's and RB's.
The Sr. Eagles are fairly young on the lines but I was pleased with what I saw. We have some great receivers and Derek Johnson was impressive. Strong arm and accurate passing.
I know they were playing themselves but I think we are going to be ok. We may not win them all but we will better that many are giving the Eagles credit for.
Not taking anything away from the Sr Eagles but I can't wait until this group of 8th and 9th graders join up with this years sophs. We close to 60 8th and 9th graders out this fall. If we can keep these guys together we could be up in the mid 70's in player numbers in 2 years.
New CHS principle Anderson is very supportive of after school activities and encourages kids to participate. Here's to a great school year and great season!!
