It was kinda weird that there was never a thread started on the Ashley Bowl this week. Seems like last year, it covered at least a couple of pages. I guess all the noise will be on the field, I am still looking forward to it.

I guess all the noise will be on the field, I am still looking forward to it. Folks in Crossett are nervous. They're openly optimistic and privately concerned. A 1-9 season followed by an 0-1 start does that to you. A win or two will go a long way to change that. A win tonight will for sure help change that. |

We are nervous as well. An 0-1 start, as we are also, plus a big cross-county bragging rights at stake. Yeah, I guess that can make one a little nervous. But hey, its Fridaynight football at its best.

Good post Slappy (You need to find you a good avatar to go with that name). There is one thing for sure it is not the kids rivalry as much as it used to be and when it is over, it is over. Time for the real season to begin next week for both. My thoughts are that this and all games be played hard, fair, and especially with no injury to nobody on either side of the field.

Where have ya'll been all week? We are going to come over and whup up a can of who'da thunk it could had been so bad. Whew, I'm getting the fever. Glad others are as well, I knew ya'll had been holding back too long, it was just a matter of time before there was an explosion. GO LIONS!!!!!!!!

Just came from the pep rally. Pretty good but not like back when I was in school. As I walked accross the parking lot i had flashbacks of BoBo Kelley from above dropping purple and white marshmallows on us. Those were the days.... |

???Slappy opines, I believe for years that Hamburg has placed much more emphasis on winning against Crossett due to being a smaller school and more times than not the underdog. I sense the shoe has moved to the other foot. With enrollment spiraling downward in Crossett and the opposite in Hamburg there seems to be more of a rivalry amongst the townsfolk and administration. I just hope we all keep in perspective what this is. A GAME! I wish Hamburg the best in all that they do except for tonight and hope both teams give their all and the best team will win and hopefully in a sportmanlike manner. GO EAGLES!!
