Ingram makes more like $55,000, between there and $60 K. I can't remember the exact figure and don't have time to look at the moment. Anybody can see exactly what any school-district employee in Arkansas makes because the state requires that districts post this information on their Web sites. csd1.sesc.k12.ar.us/Act%201747.htm Edit: Actually the link to contracts is down at the moment...not sure why, but that needs to be fixed and quickly. I've heard that Johnson makes 72k at Hamburg, I'll have to check that out when the link to employee contracts starts working. Last time I looked Johnson was making in the 50's.

Hembree gets 68 from Warren. And more than $90,000 when the booster contribution is figured in (from what I've heard, and that wouldn't be a surprise). This is the kind of thing that never would happen in Ashley County. People griped when ticket prices went up to $5...I can't imagine that anybody would pitch in to give a coach incentive money.

Does anyone have a good guess at when we may start the search? Immediately after the last game, I would think- or could it be sooner?

What are the consensus----Do you want him to stay or are the people as a majority in the school district ready for a change?

It's hard to get an accurate consensus but I would say that most people have been ready for a change for quite some time. Either last year or two years ago, there even was a lot of vocal disapproval DURING games at Yarborough Field...some people were calling him out by name from the bleachers and questioning his coaching ability. I've heard a little of that this year, too.
Most people feel that with the amount of talent here (five Division-I signees--another one coming after this season--and about 15 Division-II signees during his tenure; if you count Gabriel Bryant, it would be six D-Is), they should have seen more wins. He has had just two playoff victories and both of those came in the same season. Most likely will finish with a losing record for his career at CHS.
Not bashing, just stating the facts.
A lot of people also have a lot of genuine affection for him on a personal level. He runs a tight ship and people like that. If there is one goal that he has exceeded at it would be producing a program that toes the disciplinary line. His team always gets very high compliments for its public behavior wherever it goes. Not every coach can say that.
For instance, I've traveled with the team many times and whenever we'd go out to eat, the management and other diners would rave and I mean RAVE about how respectful and well-behaved the Eagles always were. From the time that they walked in the front door to the time that they left, you could hear nary a peep. Really I've hardly ever seen anything like it. And you have to keep in mind that these are a bunch of 15- and 16-year-old boys we're talking about here...the average one is about ready to explode under normal circumstances, much less a couple of hours before kickoff of a football game. It goes to show you, though, that oftentimes you get out of people what you expect out of people, kids especially.

Yall do realize that Bradshaw's wife is from Crossett and his child attends school here? That may affect his decision, if it is in fact true that he is considering it.

Yall do realize that Bradshaw's wife is from Crossett and his child attends school here? That may affect his decision, if it is in fact true that he is considering it. I've said all along that being in the same town as his child would be a drawing card. How much of a card remains to be seen. He loses a lot of talent this year in Bastrop. That might also be a factor. Getting out of that totally messed up La. football system should be a factor. It is amazing how difficult they have made a relatively easy process. That power ranking system is a bunch of junk. The cutthroat nature of things down there is also a turn off to me. They have schools every week having to forfeit games because of constant protests and garbage.

I've heard for years that Bradshaw supposedly had an interest in the job here after Johnson left, which would have been before his ginormous success at Bastrop. But if he had an interest he never applied for the job.
I have been told that the Bradshaws are divorced, but I've also heard that they aren't, so I'm not sure about that.
I wouldn't expect him to apply. He probably could get his pick of jobs in Louisiana, possibly even in Arkansas.
Keep an eye on Mike Cox!!! Especially if his team pulls off an upset of Junction City tomorrow night...

eddie goodson, i listen to you every friday on fox and company 97.7. iam from monroe, louisiana but live in el dorado now. i have relatives in crossett and follow south arkansas and northeast louisiana football . i disagree with your comments about louisiana high school football. the power system is the best. in years past too many top teams would meet in the 2nd round the way the brackets were drawn up and some teamswould be 3rd in its district and make it to the quarterfinals because they got the easy road and the brackets solved that. it is simple win games and everything works out fair. now arkansas population is 1.3 million less than la so this doesn't work well here but it works there. i don't know what basis you had on your comments. if it was to what happen to bastrop they were very fortunate to compete for state honors after how they picked up the players and lied or maybe you meant they should have got more. just curious. i like reading your site because i love south arkansas and north louisiana football and i enjoy listening to you on fridays talk about south arkansas football. just wondering what you meant about the harse comments on la football. thank you for your time. i do not know of any schools who had to forfeit games this year in louisiana due to protests. pleases let me know just curious. my favorite thing on sunday is to read over all teams in arkansas in the gazette and check ken ramsey on la football.

There are some major differences in LA and Ark football. I realize that. The level of competition in LA is greater than in Ark, IMO. I prefer the Ark playoff system. I hate the splitting of the into the 7A and the 6A though. The power rankings can be down right confusing to anyone who's not well versed in how it works. The set brackets in Ark are much easier to follow and understand. As far as the forfeits and controversy goes, Nick was talking about several forfeits as a result of schools turning each other in just the day before yesterday. There's been a few issues with a couple schools down a around Vidalia recently. I do think Bastrop got a raw deal too. A disgruntled coach sold Bastrop down the river out of spite. The Katrina refugees benefited several schools and schools all over were allowed to fudge the rules to accommodate the kids. Bastrop's violations were no worse than those committed by many schools. Crossett received benefit in the middle of the season from a Rita transfer that was one of the highest rated RB's in Louisiana only to have him break his leg in the first game he played in.

thanks for clearing up your above post. i think a few teams in arkansas could play with the schools down there. There are a few who could. I someone wants to see the difference all they have to do is look at the attendance figures for LA schools vs Ark schools. You don't see 6,000 to 8,000 fans at 2A and 3A games or 12,000 at many 6A or 7A games in Ark, like you do in LA. Football down there are major events in many cities. For the most part, in south Ark anyway, that is not the case. There are a few anomalies though. Junction City being one.

i am hoping scott reed will have the attendence back up at el dorado. i think he has done wonders in 1 year. most experts picked eldo to win 1 or 2 ball games. they will finish 6-4 after tomorrow night and played camden-fairview 14-10 in that loss. the crowds were decent at some games this year here. i went to the crossett- white hall game and the attendence was fair. crossett has some talent but at 5-5 won't make the playoffs. hopefully in 2 years they will be 4a with the enrollment. being the smalllest enrollment in 5a makes it tough to compete sometimes.
