I guess we can talk about it openly now. A statement was read tonight that Coach T will be retiring following the season. Wonder what the future holds.

I [glow=red,2,300]REALLY[/glow] hope that whoever makes this decision puts some actual thought into it and picks a good coach- I'd personally look at the assistants in northern Louisiana at successful schools like bastrop or west monroe. I don't know if our superintendent realizes it, but a good football team WILL make a difference in enrollment. I'm not going to name names, but I know of more than one person who transferred to Warren JUST for their football program, and one didn't even play football- he just liked the sport and how good they always are. Do our ticket sales currently generate actual revenue, or just cover costs of keeping everything up? just curious. I'd bet the top knotch schools generate revenue to put back into the school and make it better as a whole, though I may be wrong.

Bring on the dude from Warren Rumor is that he wants to go to UAM, but that's just a rumor as far as I'm concerned...Mathews might not even get canned. We'll have to see how that pans out over the next few weeks.

Bo Hembree is not coming to Crossett......you guys can forget that.....BUT, Bo was a young guy when he took over the warren job, so maybe Crossett needs to go after a young assistant that is now at one of the top programs in the state, that is ready to move into the head coaching job!

Warren is as good as any team I have seen play in a while, I believe they could hang with the 7A schools up north. Would like to see that match-up, but would rather see them play Bastrop. I know this thread is for Teodis, but just had to put my 2 cents in.

So do any of you guys who tend to be a little more knowledgable have any guesses at who we may get, or where we may look? Also, I'm wondering if you guys think we'll actually go after someone good, or just someone to come in as a lateral move.

As a parent of a member of the current Crossett Eagle football team - I can't let this opportunity go without saying how much I appreciate Coach T's dedication and time spent with our team. I know that when the chips are down and our team is not doing as well as some think they should - it's easy to blame coaching. Coach T has taught our boys how to be winners even when the scoreboard is showing something different. He has helped to build up the character of our young men and has been fair across the board. I look forward to seeing Coach T in an administrative role (if that is what is going to happen) and I hope that he will continue to lead the young men and women of Crossett High School in a positive manner. I wish Coach all the luck in the world with his future endeavors and hope that he'll be at Crossett High School for many years to come.

Can't get a proven winner at this level. Got to take a risk...just take a calculated risk.

He was my coach for a short period, the summer before I started high school- and nobody can say anything negative about him as a person, IMO. I guess we do decent considering we are roughly the size of a large 4A school, but someone with fresh ideas will help us out for the next several years hopefully.

You are joking. right? You are joking. say no. It would really be awesome to see what kind of things he could do here, though I'm sure it will never happen. I don't know how he'd be getting paid less there than here, but if the salaries are correct (59k+truck there, 80k here), he gets paid more there- a new truck costs more than 21k. I guess Bastrop's coach would be okay (sarasm) lol

Last time I looked, the coach/athletic director job only paid around $49,000 a year. No one in the 5A makes $80,000 a year as coach/AD from a school salary alone. Jones at Greenwood may come close, but the boosters up there pay part of his salary, I think.

I didn't figure we'd pay better than any NE Louisiana head coaching position, but an asst. coach would get paid more as a HC here than an asst. at Bastrop or WM, right? That's what I'd go for if I were in charge.

Ingram makes more like $55,000, between there and $60 K. I can't remember the exact figure and don't have time to look at the moment. Anybody can see exactly what any school-district employee in Arkansas makes because the state requires that districts post this information on their Web sites. csd1.sesc.k12.ar.us/Act%201747.htmEdit: Actually the link to contracts is down at the moment...not sure why, but that needs to be fixed and quickly.

Monticello pays Paschal 68,000. Tice is making 80k at Harrison. Jones is listed at around 80 but from what I understand with the booster club support is goes up to 100K. Hembree gets 68 from Warren.

I've heard that Johnson makes 72k at Hamburg, I'll have to check that out when the link to employee contracts starts working.
