i am hoping scott reed will have the attendence back up at el dorado. i think he has done wonders in 1 year. most experts picked eldo to win 1 or 2 ball games. they will finish 6-4 after tomorrow night and played camden-fairview 14-10 in that loss. the crowds were decent at some games this year here. i went to the crossett- white hall game and the attendence was fair. crossett has some talent but at 5-5 won't make the playoffs. hopefully in 2 years they will be 4a with the enrollment. being the smalllest enrollment in 5a makes it tough to compete sometimes.

thanks for clearing up your above post. i think a few teams in arkansas could play with the schools down there. There are a few who could. I someone wants to see the difference all they have to do is look at the attendance figures for LA schools vs Ark schools. You don't see 6,000 to 8,000 fans at 2A and 3A games or 12,000 at many 6A or 7A games in Ark, like you do in LA. Football down there are major events in many cities. For the most part, in south Ark anyway, that is not the case. There are a few anomalies though. Junction City being one. I don't know what classification Sterlington is (2-3A?), but they didn't even almost halfway fill up their stands for their rivalry game I went to. I was very unimpressed with their attendance. The lines at the concession stands were also practically non-exhistant, even during halftime. Of course, I'm sure most others are different, but that was the only LA game I've been to.

they are 2a about 340 students 9-12. they built the school and stadium according to future growth statistics to that area. eventually as the keep growing they will fill the stadium.

They've got a great spread at Sterlington. Every time that I pass that campus I marvel at how nice it is. It's about 10 million times better-looking than the town of Sterlington itself.

Coach makes it offical in post game interview as his tenure ends with a win. Lots of names circulating around town as to who might be interested in the job. Only time will tell how things turn out. Will we head south into Louisiana? North into Central Arkansas? West into Southwest Arkansas or right around the corner?

The names I'm hearing are very promising but at this point I'm not sure what is true and what is rumor. We will most likely be able to confirm rthings once the job is actually posted and I feel like that won't happen until the playoffs are complete.

I have been hearing a lot about Coach Ingram retiring....how will the school district go about hiring someone for his head coaching job?

I have been hearing a lot about Coach Ingram retiring....how will the school district go about hiring someone for his head coaching job? Good question. I doubt we'll know anything, though, before the December board meeting. I just don't think they will do anything with the season still going on. I think there are steps they have to go through for filling the position. The position has to be vacated officially first. Coach T saying he is retiring from Coaching won't be enough. Once it's official, then they can move forward.

Thanks, like I said, just hearing a lot of talk right now. He has been good for the district and the guys that have played for him all these years. He will be missed in the program, that is for sure!

I spoke to someone at t Wiggins Cabin Festival, and they told me that Coach T had already turned in his official resignation by that point. This is not anything new to the Administration building. Surely they have started to get the ball rolling, even if it is moving at th speed of a snail.

It seems impossible that they haven't even discussed it, and we can only hope they have already started making calls.

You will most likely not hear anything until after the playoffs. It would be unprofessional of the district to contact coaches whose schools are still involved in the season. Coaches would not want things like that distracting their team as they enter the playoffs.

I seriously doubt that he has turned in his resignation this soon. Most administrator resignations come in January or February, unless they are vacating the position immediately. Of course if he has, it will be on the agenda for the next board meeting. I hope that he continues on in an adminstrative capacity. I have much love for him as a person and school leader and I know many teachers at the high school that do as well.

Resignation was tendered and accepted officially in a called board meeting on Thursday night. Ad-hoc search "committee" made up of board President Robert Stone and superintendent Janice Warren has been appointed to present three finalists to the general board. No timetable set but one would assume that the hire will be in place by the first day of school in the new year.

Is he leaving the district totally or just resigning from his coaching position? Only from his athletics positions.
