Is he gone? Sources say he is unless the Hogs roll through the SEC tournament and earn a NCAA bid.

There is absolutely no reason for him to stay.
And I heard three or four different people call in to "Sports Rap" today and 1) ask if there was any possibility that Nolan would come back and 2) actually say that they WANT Nolan to come back. Are they that stupid? Are they crazy??? I couldn't believe what I was hearing...I wanted to throw something at the radio.
I wouldn't even want Mike Anderson to be in the running for the job. No way. If Anderson gets it I officially will be finished with Razorback basketball.

Gillespie is the front runner to replace Stan. He is ours if the money is right. Patino is a long shot and Tubby Smith could be looking for work also.
I don't think you will Nolan or Mike Anderson in Fayetteville anytime soon. This hire will be done solely by the chancellor, there will be no committee.

What is wrong with Kentucky, getting rid of Tubby? Wouldnt Arkansas be interesting in him. Stan is a nice guy, but nice has proven that it doesnt win ballgames. But i do believe there are players, such as Darian Townes that comes to play only when they want to. There are probably a couple of players sitting over there on the bench not contributing that might be wasting a scholarship.

What in the world has happened to Cyrus McGowan? Is he even on the team anymore?
Since I've watched only about three games all season and haven't heard his name mentioned not one time, I wondered.

We don't want tubby!!!! I don't think Tubby is much of a recruiter, his talent level is tapering off. Let me see.....Mccurdy,Hunter,Turn over er I mean Garn Ervin, need to go. Not sure how Washington is gonna develop yet. We need a coach that can get in the backside of players like townes, he can play when he WANTS to. I say calipari from Memphis!

In a few yrs people in Kentucky are going to be missing tubby, just like SOME, not all people in Arkansas are missing Nolan. Nolan was outed at Arkansas because of his mouth, not because of his coaching even though his last couple of yrs were down. As far as I know Tubby is not ruffling any feathers in Kentucky with his mouth. Nolan and Tubby are both the same coaches that won national Championships. Watching the game with Arkansas and Kentucky, I personally thought Arkansas had better talent, but was outcoached, by just a couple of small adjustments by Tubby. I dont think he would be a bad choice at all for Arkansas to look at.

you just proved my point bobcat....Tubby has less talent....he gets less and less every year....now I agree Stan did get out coached in the Kentucky game as I think he does quite often.

Well, what do you guys think? Does Stan Heath stay now, after making it to the SEC title game for the first time since 2000?
It's great that he made it this far, and I'm sure people will think it's crazy to get rid of him, but I personally don't think fans will ever be happy with a very poor regular season record, and a nice run in the SEC tournament every year that would be just enough to save his job
All i know for sure is a) I'm glad we made it to the title game, and probably the NCAA tournament, and b) I'm glad I'm not the one who has to make the decision.

Rumor is that the decision on Heath has already been made. He wins today and he is definitely back.

It's odd how when his job is on the line, he goes to the SEC title game, beating very good teams on the way (Vandy, and MSU, which destroyed the Hogs @ MSU), but doesn't have the ability to win the regular season games. Isn't this what he did last year also; did poorly through the season, and then won 5 straight at the end to make it to the NCAA tournament?

I'm sure everyone knows this already, but just thought I'd add- Arkansas lost to Florida today in basketball, by a score that I can't post because I've chosen to block it from my memory. As well as we played them on the road @ Florida, I expected more, but at least we made it to the NCAA tournament.

It was enough to make the tournament but was it enough to keep Stan around another year?

Like I said, I'm really glad I'm not the one making that decision...the guys played hard in the first half, but they seemed to wear out and stop playing hard in the second half. I can't really blame them for that though, because they've played game after game at full speed, as hard as they could.
How do you think the Hogs' chances are vs. USC, and when will that game be played?

They fire Heath now and I'll join Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson for the protest march in Fayetteville. Because it will be clearly be racism. Heath goes to the championship game and gets beat just like Nutt. You don't fire a coach with a 20 win season and in the NCAA tourney. Heath has gotten better as the season has progressed and the players are progressing. I would not blame Heath if he left on his own though.

I don't believe they will fire Heath now for 2 reasons: 1. He has come back strong in the last of the season and the SEC tournament. 2. He has Nolan on his side, (or should I say, Nolan has his back) and they don't want Nolan to intimidate Heath with Nolan being as vocal and racist that he is.
