Tonight the CHS Choir presented the "Choir Follies" to help raise funds for a trip. During the intermission (or as my wife calls it, the "halftime"), the CHS Band presented incidental music. The music came from the Canadian Brass and included The Fanfare for a Maple Leaf, Ode to Joy, the spiritual Steal Away, and Kelligrew's Soriee.
Members of the Brass Quintet were:
Rebecca Walthall- Trumpet Jasmine Frye- Trumpet Lizzy Wilson- Euphonium (Tenor) Thomas Dunn- Horn Mr. McLaren- Euphonium (Bass)
Congratulations to the Choir and Band members for a job well done.

Gary Meggs is one of the greatest assets SEARK has. His is building a music program that is as good as it gets.

A little up-dating. The CHS Band presented their Spring Concert May 8th. During the course of the concert there were several solos by students in the band, and I felt they needed to be acknowledged.
On Sinfonia Six solos were by Senior Clarinet Matt Maxwell, Junior Clarinet Chelsie Presley, Junior Euphonium Lizzy Wilson, Junior Saxophone Janiece Williams, Junior Trumpet Rebecca Walthall and the entire percussion section.
On the Pirates of the Caribbean solos were by Walthall and Senior Flute Amanda Cabbiness
Yesterday the Seniors of the band were taken to Magic Springs in Hot Springs as a reward, of sorts, for sticking with the band. The Crossett Band Boosters paid the entry fee into the park. Everyone seemed to have a great time. All of them wish to express their gratitude to the Band Boosters for this.

Gary Meggs is one of the greatest assets SEARK has. His is building a music program that is as good as it gets. You are absolutely right. I dare say the Jazz program there is at the top of the Arkansas colleges, and the band program is getting better year by year. There have been several staff changes that have made excellent improvement to the music program as a whole. Mr. K now teaches 1st year Theory and Les Pack teaches 2nd year Theory. Speaking of UAM, if any of you are familiar with the Education Department, then you know how big an influence Dr. Gene Dillard was on Education students. He was a huge encouragement to me while working on my M. Ed. I just found out that he has passed on. I've been out of touch with the Ed department for a while and had not heard of this. He will be missed both as a educator and as a person.

Almost all band information will be distributed through the regular band web page. Some will come to here. When school starts parents will have access to Edline where they can check student grades using a password provided by the school.`That URL is: www.edline.net

Question for Admins. I have a new digital camera. Is there a way to post pictures here, or does that take up too much bandwidth?

Question for Admins. I have a new digital camera. Is there a way to post pictures here, or does that take up too much bandwidth? The only way to post pictures is to get an image shack account and store them there and then post them here. I don't have any web space for the site just the free board. Being as they are school related, you might could get the school site to host them and link them from here.

Any type of site that allows unfettered access to uploaded photos (not just Image Shack) will work. The band site will work fine. to wit: MODIFIED: OK, actually, it WON'T work. Which makes absolutely no sense. If this won't work then neither will coding from another site. Not sure what the problem is. MODIFIED AGAIN: Figured it out; it's just a matter of adding some coding. Copy your image link and then click the image icon; put the link in between the bracketed parts.
