Do you guys think they have the talent they had last year? It would be awesome to see them make another run at the championship. I think I remember them being underestimated this year, and I know a lot of the players graduated, but it seems like we should have some good talent coming back.

FYI - CHS Eagles play this afternoon at 5:30 pm at Camden/Fairview. However, all the games for Saturday have been changed to Monday and Tuesday. Since Saturday is to be a stormy day, I think they went ahead and made the schedule changes.
To answer questions of thatoneguy. We should have a very good team this year. I think there are only four seniors....so CHS is a young...very good team. The trip to Baum Stadium will depend on how well the Eagles pitching comes together and how they gel as a team as the season goes on. ..... this is all just my opinion....for what it is worth.
The Crossett coaches and team players usually don't speculate on how good they think they are or aren't. Last year CHS flew under the radar until the end of the season and state tournament. Not saying much...just showing up and playing good baseball. One of the other teams in the state tournament that was touting their greatness on one of the other messageboards.....was put out by Crossett's ninth grade pitcher. My hope is that the Eagles pick up where they left off last year.

Who did we end up being matched against tonight? and is there any website I can go to later on tonight to find the score? I don't guess it is on the radio.

The game tonite was against Norphlet. With Bobby Ross Bryan on the mound, Crossett won 11 - 2. The next game will be Monday at 5:30pm against the winner of the Hampton vs. Camden Fairview. If I were to speculate, it will more than likely be Camden Fairview we will be playing.
Rea Lucas (former Crossett player and coach) coaches the Hampton team and Boone Lucas was the starting catcher. We watched the first inning of this game and Hampton was holding thier own at 1 - 0 in favor of CF.
It is likely we could see Youngblood pitch for CF if we face them......and he is a D-1 prospect for both baseball and football. The CF game could be a real test for Crossett.
This being the first game of the season...there was some "room for improvement" ....but an 11 - 2 victory was a good way to knock the rust off.
Way to go Eagles!!

Great to hear that the Eagles have started off with a win. Is there any website or anything that gives up-to-date scores for the Eagles, kinda like maxpreps does for football and basketball?

The format of the Camden-Fairview tournament changed when the games on Saturday were canceled due to the bad weather. Crossett played the winner of the the Camden-Fairview / Hampton game...which was Camden-Fairview. The winner of the game between Camden-Fairview and Crossett was Camden-Fairview. The Final game was when Camden-Fairview then played Watson Chapel. Watson Chapel won this game 2 - 1 in 10 innings. Sounds like that was a good game.
The Eagles start the OCS tournament tomorrow (Thurs 3/1) at OCS playing Lakeside at 3:30. Friday they play at 5:30 at OCS and Saturdays games will be at St. Frederick's field in Monroe at 1:00 and 3:00.

I wasn't at the game today.....work tends to get in the way of sports sometimes. Here are the results as I understand them.. Lakeside 8 and Crossett 2. Bobby R. Bryant did have one HR. Next game of the OCS tourn. is Friday at 5:30 at OCS.

How does the OCS tournament work, did that knock Crossett out of it?
Also, Who are all of the pitchers for Crossett this year?

Crossett played Northland Christian School out of Houston, TX this afternoon in the OCS tournament. Bubba Turner was the starting pitcher, relieved by Pierce Williams. Bobby Ross Bryan hit another homerun today in the first inning with a long ball over the left center field fence. Going into the bottom of the 6th inning, Crossett was behind 8 to 2...... when the Eagle bats came alive.....hits abounded throughout the lineup..........including a three run shot homerun by Bubba Turner ....and YES...CROSSETT WINS 9 to 8 over this salty Texas team. I can think of only one error committed in the field. This... and the "never die" attitude made this a fun game to watch. Crossett plays Saturday, March 3rd (tomorrow) at ST. Frederick's field in Monroe. Crossett vs. Oak Grove, LA at 12:30 and Crossett vs. Bastrop, LA at 3:00. Come check it out. Good job Eagles.

Great to hear they pulled that one out, I bet it was really exciting to watch them claw their way back to win the game in the end. I'm definitely going to some games this year, and DEFINITELY going to make a show at the Crossett vs. Hamburg games lol.

The only good call the umpire made all day was when he called the game for time. I accused him of graduating from the Larry Cantley school of coaching. He was that bad. He caused the coach from Houston to behave terribly.
