Crossett played L.R. Mills in a conference Double Header tonight. Crossett wins the first game by 19 to 1. Crossett wins the second game 9 to 0. Great to see Crossett having that much fun hitting the baseball. Thursday CHS goes to Hamburg for a double header. Good Luck Crossett....!!

Traditionally, Mills is a powerhouse.

I see that Crossett is coming to Hamburg on Thursday. Rumor from other schools has it that the umps get paid really well. I don't have a clue.

I hope you aren't referring to Crossett paying umpires to swing the game in our favor lol. Even if we did, I don't think it would account for an entire 18 point win. It looks like the Eagles are starting to improve a lot. What is Mills' record, or better yet, where do they stand in our conference?

No, I am not referring to that, I am just stating what I have read on FF about what other posts have said about Hamburg.

Oh okay, gotcha. Now that you mention it, I haven't read on FF in a while...I think i'll head over there for a while. And can someone please try to post the score of the Crossett vs. Hamburg game tonight? I won't be able to make it out to watch.

Crossett played a close one @ Hamburg: Crossett 25 Hamburg 3 You talk about payback. All I seen was alot of hitting from Crossett.

Wow. What else is there to say. Is there a 'mercy rule' type thing in baseball like there is in football? If so, was this used? lol This game was a good indicator of the improvements Crossett has made, I guess.

Hamburg WAS mercy ruled. It's 10 runs after five innings.
Apparently there also is a "voluntary" mercy rule that can end it with 15 runs after four but both coaches have to agree upon that prior to the start of the game. This one got out of hand pretty quickly so I'd bet that both coaches wished that they'd agreed on that ahead of time.
When it gets that out of control it doesn't help either team to continue playing.

Yeah, when the game is "over", early or not, it would probably be best to go ahead and end it. Not only would this cut down on risk of injury, but also fatigue and what not. Anyway, I bet no players (crossett or hamburg) wanted to end it early. I know I wouldn't.

Crossett also won the JV game, don't know the score, but my last figure I had was 3-2 Crossett. I didn't stay long for that one.

Lion supporter I haven't been to a Hamburg baseball game in SEVERAL years but really was impressed with the turnout. Are all Hamburg baseball games that well-attended or was this just because it was the rival game?

Heath, believe it or not, but the turn out for the games have been pretty good for the last several years. I don't know if (A) people are just tired of the winter blues and ready to get out or (B) just like baseball. My answer would have to be (C) both of the above. Actually we have always seem to have good followers of the sport. But you know the old saying, you can't complain about the game to the coach, umps, spouse, or significant other if you don't go see it for yourself.

The Eagles beat Hamburg today 25-3. It sounds like we didn't see their best pitching, (Ya Think!!), but none the less, our boys hit the ball well up and down the order, and Bobby Ross Bryan pitched a great 4 inning game. 2 homeruns in the first game by Bobby Ross, and Vincent Newton, and a ground rule double by Jacob Lockwood in the follow up 5 inning game.

Hamburg was in the unenviable position of having to play three games in five days, including games on Thursday and Friday. Today's game is a conference game.

Obviously the Crossett bats are improving. In the last three games (full seven inning games), Crossett has outscored their opponent 43 to 4.

Crossett's in pretty good shape right now in conference play. By the way I'm looking at it the conference schedule is half over. Anybody know why there is no McClellan playing date on the schedule? Does McClellan not have a baseball team this year? I remember the years when Central didn't have a team.
McClellan does have a softball team.
