Wow. 53 to 4 ...thats awesome. I guess I never just stopped and thought about the mathematics of it. I wonder how many teams in 5A can say something like that?

Those are impressive numbers, it's a shame that almost half of those runs came from my alma mater. When is Crossett's regular season over? Hamburg finishes up this week with Monticello, Star City, and Dollarway., then starts district play on the 18th.

April 23 West Helena * At White Hall 3:30 Doubleheader That's our last regular season game. I copied and pasted it from the first page, and I was wondering if it was a mistake where it says we're playing west helena at white hall?

Not a mistake. Been doing this ever since Central started playing baseball.

Oh okay. Well what's the story behind that? Does W. Helena not have a ball field, or is it a tradition thing? I never realized we did this.

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the clarification there.

It's because of the traveling distance. And actually when it first started (around 2001 or 2002 when Central first got a baseball team) the conference wasn't set up how it is now, with all playing dates' being doubleheaders. This is a new phenomenon that has been going on only for two or three years. The problem actually was having two different traveling dates of that distance and the possibility of rainouts. Drive is just too far to chance it.
The agreement to meet in Pine Bluff (and later White Hall) for a doubleheader was a great solution. Crossett also used to do the same with one of the other conference opponents, although I'm not sure which one...one that isn't in the Southeast anymore I think.

Did we play McGhee on the 10th? If so, did we win? Also, and update on the game from tonight would be great. Thanks in advance

McGehee game was a rainout.

Yeah, I figured that the McGehee game was a rainout. I looked for the scores from tonight on xtrainnings, but didn't find any.

I read on FF that we were swept by Parkers Chapel on the 12th, but I don't know the score.

Checked on the scores from the Monticello double header. We lost the first one 16-2, and the second 10-6 (from xtrainnings). Anyone know our record so far? I assume we are heading to post-season play, correct?

I'm not exactly sure where Crossett stands in conference play right now, but the record is just 4-6, so the postseason is no shoe-in.

Oh, I was thinking we had played more conference games than that for some reason.

McClellan doesn't have a baseball team, so you're looking at just 12 conference games total. Four left to play which is just two playing dates.
